what about a fiesta st...

my mate has just bought a red one. Had the wheels sprayed factory white and the calipers sprayed red. Kept everything standard but had the engine remapped and its faster and more economical :) hes very happy and its very fast.

150bhp for a 2.0 seems a bit pathetic to me..considered a Fabia vRS? Remap for 400 quid and you have bags more torque, more power and 50mpg.

Get over the Skoda badge and it's a brilliant car for under 9k.

Edit - I see you've already purchased :(

What's with the fascination with torque? Not you personally, but just Diesel owners. I have a mate who has a Seat Ibiza FR 1.9 tdi, and whenever performance is mentioned he always comes out with the classic line "Well at least I have the torque of a Honda NSX". I mean, I've thought about it, I really have, but since when has loads of torque steer been better than less aggressive, but more progressive acceleration?

Torque is great fun, it just means the car pulls very hard and makes the absolute most out of the engines power.

Only really useful on heavier cars but it means in the lower gears you can keep up with more powerful cars. My Octavia vRS was keeping up with all sorts around donington and it's only producing 220bhp. Only explanation I could give to people was that it's been remapped...their response "Ah, bet its got a lot of torque then"...

Lots of power out of corners basically!

Yeah I mean I want black ones. The blue and red ones look completely crap. You not agree?

yes and no. I dunno lol.

id like blue cos it would go with the car, but its not it doesnt look 100% a match... so maybe black would be best.... i really unsure, one of the reasons i aint done it.

any of you on http://www.fiestastoc.com/? :)

I just ordered the Eibach springs for mine and hoping to get the wheels refurbed and powder coated white this month too.

yes, are you ST07? lol (edit never mind, if you've only just got those things for your car then you cant be him! lol)

Performance Ford Trackday at Snetterton with FiestaSTOC guys/girls :D

plus they have the capability of about 250hp

not from a standard Fiesta ST engine they dont.

The "factory" upgrades are:
ST165
upgraded airfilter (K&N cone..... yes thats right token, even FORD use it...)
full exhaust system, 4-1 manifold, sport cat, and relatively quiet back box
full remap.

ST185
ST165 + new Cams and uprated Springs + map to suit.

bad point to the ST185 is its SLOWER than even a standard ST upto about 3000rpm, but once the rpms get to where those cams are ment for, it really goes (ie its moved the power band up 1000-1500rpm, so it doesnt run out of steam @ 6500rpm).

150bhp for a 2.0 seems a bit pathetic to me......

this pops up in a lot of threads about ST's Ford COULD do it, 2.3litre duratec (exact same size as the 2litre unit) build with extras would push it to 210bhp NA.... but it would price it out of range of the people they are aiming for. oh and not everyone thinks diesel is fantastic, infact i think its the worst thing to be ever thought of.

However the ST165, and ST185 upgrades should really have been there from day one really, bit late now considering 2009 is the new line of fiestas.

all that money and work for an increase less than a £200 remap can give a turbo petrol/diesel of equal standard bhp :D
