Hi,

Ive been looking through papers, auto trader and everywhere for a car, found some nice ones on autotrader that I like.

Im going towards a mk5 fiiesta with a 1.25 just to rack in some ncb (hopefully)
I was looking earlier at focus etc but as I don't comute to work (2mins walk up the road) im looking for something smallish and used pleasure only! :D

Ive been looking at mk5 fiesta's in the year 2002 as it came with A/C etc and few more goodies. the freestyle model I seem to have found offer 3 dorr with loads of goodies. Now for my first car I think its great, 1.25 engine, font fogs abs, cd player etc. now what do you guys think?
another model that has caught my eyes is a the Fiesta Black model, with added leather seats and "quickclear" windscreen which I though is cool, well the car will be parked in the driveway and we do get quite a few frosty mornings here.

Oh Ive got a budget of around £4-5k depending on the car.

I want no slagging off here,

Cheers

Even though I don't know much about cars, I tend to agree with Fox. For that amount of money, I'd rather go for a Mk6 Fiesta or the Focus.

Buying a small car isnt really worthwhile when you are going to spend a lot of money on it, the whole mindset of "its small so I wont bang it" wont really apply when the cost of the car is so much that a bang will be an expensive mistake.

A car more golf sized, ie the next step up would be a better suggestion. Or you could do some research into a cheaper, small car to plod around for a year in to get some no claims.

Oh, one more thing:

fourthed omgwinnor111111!!!!1111PC+1kklolthxbye

but for that money I would be getting a pap fiesta mk6 like the finessie or LX which I dont think I can hack :-/

Besides I want a car too last me 2-3 years maybe.

I will have another look at focus,

I'll let you know when I think of a single reason to buy a Fiesta over a Focus.

Size? Budget? Insurance reasons? Like the look of the Fiesta more? W have an 55 plate fiesta that I drive about in. We can get a better spec fiesta than if we'd brought a focus.

I like the look of the MK6 fiesta 3door and focus mk1.5, not that keen on mk5 but its better than the mk4

With that money, you can do much much better. You may want a Fiesta now, but I guarantee you, you'll want something much better in a couple of months time.

Yeah I understand where you are coming from with in a few weeks/months time I will get bored,

I was just agreeing with fox :(

Besides, with the fiesta, you will at some stage want to either carry a large amount of stuff or people in it. And you simply won't have the room. Yes, you'll save up NCB, but in my opinion, I would opt for something that would either not get bored of, or something less like a hashed up remake of the mk4.

Having said that my mum has a mk4 fiesta with 120k on it and she loves it :D

A Fiesta?

I'd be looking at: Leon/Golf :)

Though all these cars would probably bore you quickly. You say it's only for pleasure, so why look at a Fiesta! Think of something a little more fun!
