Not rooted no and not overly bothered about doing so, I was just suprised how many versions behind I am compared to some of the custom ROMs.

My Defy is a bit useless at the moment as the earpiece speaker has broken. Some cheap torx screwdrivers and a new earpiece is on its way though from ebay (Hong Kong no doubt!).

Sammy i5700. Which is why it's such a shame, because there's decent mods for it for 2.1 onwards but because of Samsung's horrible driver system and the fact that operating systems other than Windows exist i can't get them
