Hello,
Hopefully in September some time when I have enough money I'll be going for 2x 250GB WD AAKS in RAID 0 and a 500GB external hard drive so I can have the following setup:
250GBx2 RAID 0: OS, Installs etc.
500GB internal: Music, pictures, videos, downloads, everything important from installs hard drive (Firefox settings, game saves etc.)
500GB external: manual mirror of the above using Acronis or similar software. Having this drive external will protect me from PC failure in case something like the PSU goes and takes out components for whatever reason...
Manually backing up the 500GB will also protect me from software error, so if I screw up then I've got the external backup.
The above setup will allow me to reinstall Windows any time very easily, store a lot of media etc. and be 100% safe from data loss
Anyway, to get to the point:
How good are the Seagate FreeAgent drives for what I want to do? I'd like to keep it on 24/7 so I can set scheduled backups, so it'll need to keep itself cool and quiet.
Thanks,
Craig.
