Wow, thanks. Looks like I won't be bored over Christmas then. Think I'll go with Bosch and Jack Ryan first as I do like a good cop/cia type show.

I did start watching American Gods a while back and found it hard to get into, which is a shame as the cast is so good. I might give it another go, because Emily Browning.

I’ve got the free trial recently so no watched much.
I started off with patriot, gave up on the 3rd episode just didnt like anything about it.
4 episodes in on Mrs maisel, seems a high quality show, dialogue and acting very good and looks great.
4 in on outlander it’s a bit slow, hoping it picks up, gonna stick with it, I do like the concept.
And the Man City documentary is decent so far.

I’ve been keeping the latest series of Bosch for the holidays, I watched the previous series on last years freebie :), love that show.

Its really cool that they give you a month free every year. Managed to get most of my christmas presents sorted making use of Prime next day delivery and now got Prime video to keep me entertained over the holiday. All for free! Makes me feel a bit guilty lol, but theres just no point me paying for it as i'll have probably watched everything worth watching before the month is up and hardly use Amazon for the rest of the year.

Patriot is not only the best show on Prime but my favourite show of all time. Both seasons have been perfection.

I like Bosch quite a lot, but it's not exactly world changing. Just another cop show, really.
Vikings is superb, best series I've watched on Amazon
The 100 is great (starts off terrible in the first episode, but improves a heck of a lot)
Hell on Wheels is brilliant for the first 2/3 seasons. Tapers down after that.
Hand of God I enjoyed, but I don't reckon it's for everyone.
Goliath S1 is pretty great, S2 is terrible
American Gods is good. Bit weird - but I like weird.

To be honest, all of the above are going to be enjoyed if you're into the premise/genre.

My wife really digs Outlander and Versailles, but I've not tried either.

I thought Black Sails was crap :D
Copper was also terrible. gave up after 3 or 4 episodes.

Don't think I've watched any other Amazon Prime series, so anything I've not mentioned isn't a sign that I didn't enjoy :)

I didn't like Vikings which was slow and boring, I loved Goliath and hated American Gods. Black Sails was better than all of them.

Stick with Vikings, gave up twice on season 1 as the first half is very slow and plodding and the acting frankly is quite ropey with the likes of Gabriel Byrne in there phoning in his lines.

However...season 2 is up there is my favourite TV of all time.

It does drop off increasingly in quality after S3 though, going more for shock/violence than consistency with plot holes and story convenience that's hard to overlook in the last few seasons, still love it though.

Finished Jack Ryan yesterday, only 2-3 days to watch the season. Pretty entertaining to watch, hopefully they'll have a season 2.

The Tick is refreshing original and funny. Grand Tour is worth a try even if you do not like cars, its not for everyone but lots of people find it entertaining.

Bosch any good?

Bosch is excellent, probably my favourite show on prime. Couple of actors in it from the Wire, which is one of my favourite shows period.

Ripper Street is pretty cool too if you fancy a victorian detective drama - Jerome Flynn/Bronn from Game of Thrones plays one of the detectives. (Originally a BBC thing but I think Amazon continued it after BBC cancelled)

Outlander is OK, bit of a romance thing - English woman in the 1940s time travels back to the Scottish highlands just before the Jacobite risings and hooks up with some hunky Scottish Laird - women seem to like it a lot and it is tolerable for a romance thing, something to watch with the Mrs.

Vikings is great, kind of of self explanatory, it's about Vikings!

Black Sails is decent - Michael Bay's pirate drama - the opening/intro to episode 1 is fantastic.

Halt and Catch fire - 80s computer thingie, actually pretty cool.

Mr Robot - computer hacker thing, I didn't like it all that much though everyone else I know seemed to love it, first season was ok-ish.

Red Oaks - nice little comedy, set in the 80s at a Country Club where the main character gets his summer job as an assistant tennis coach.

Mad Dogs - US version of a UK series shown on Sky, I never watched the UK one (set in Spain) but this seemed OK, old school friends go to visit a mutual friend in Belize, turns out he's into some dodgy stuff... some bad things happen and chaos ensues as some ordinary guys find themselves caught up in his world. Seems they didn't renew it for a second series so I guess most people didn't like it too much.

also - you can still get some series like the US Office, I'm pretty sure they used to have the UK Office, Peep Show, Father Ted etc.. too but they don't seem to be available anymore unfortunately.

Oh almost forgot this one: The Girlfriend experience, stars Riley Keough, didn't bother with the second season as they lost her...the acting is excellent and she was nominated for a Golden Globe for it. Interesting that she's Elvis Presley's Granddaughter too!

Female law student juggles Law School, internship at a big law firm and escorting on the side too... and then the inevitable fallout/stress as those worlds collide:

Edit - FFS!!!! Can't believe I forgot this too - comedy about a female standup comic in 1950s NYC:

Thanks Dowie (and everyone). I finished the Jack Ryan season last night and it wasn't bad. Also watched the film Suicide Squad, which was meh. The girl who played Harley was the only thing that made it worth watching. The joker in this was horrifically bad and just felt completely pointless in the film. Also watched Final destination 5 which was as bad as you'd expect lol.

I think i'll start Bosch or Patriot next as they sound good.
