A few houses down had some people doing driveway stuff on sunday that went on till around 8pm.

Are you sure the regs dont only apply to businesses not individuals. Ie it may have been the owner of the house doing his drive? If it was whats the difference between that and someone mowing their lawn etc on a sunday.

Having said that i know how annoying noise is, for the last 4 years on and off i've had building work carried out next door from 8am (thats B***** early for a student! )
