What are you hoping for on black friday?

I see a few references to rice cookers, educate me as to why they are better than a pan of boiling water.

1 - Convenience
2 - Keep warm function. You can do it hours ahead.
3 - Does more than just plain rice. You can cook it with garlic, curry, tinned fish, add in all kinds of flavours.
4 - It does BETTER rice than a pan of boiling water. There is science behind it. In a pan, by the time the inside is cooked, the outside is mush. In a rice cooker, it is cooked evenly. The outside is NOT mush and you can actually pick it up with chopsticks.

Have you ever had sushi? The rice in that is nothing like how you cook it in a pan of water right?

The only way to do rice as good without one is using a pan, and the right amount of water, manually adjusting the heat on the stove, listening to when to turn it down and when to turn off the hob. That takes skill, that takes time, that takes attention and it takes practice.

2 Billion Asians (I pull this number out of my bum) uses it, it is time the west embrace the technology that has been around for 50+ years. :D

Totally agree, but in the UK it is like telling 2 billion Asians that an ice cream scoop is the best when serving mash with **** tasting hotplate pies in green **** water

Hopefully some discounted recent model Galaxy Ultra models for my daughters Xmas pressies. They seem to be holding reasonably strong money recently.

Let me know if you score - looking to get my mum and Ultra.
Will do, something from the Note 20 to S23 Ultra, depends on price really have to get 2 maybe 3 of them, my girls all have note 9's currently which have lasted fantastically well with no faults or drops.

For Black Friday to go away, Or just to be one Friday at the end of the Month, if we must have it.

"Amazon Black Friday Week starting this Thursday" advert sums this up for me

i now have a rice cooker on my to purchase list thanks to this post! we cook a lot or rice as the kids love it with pretty much any sort of home made sauce so i reckon it's time to retire my saucepan and join the 21st century.

don't suppose you've any suggestions for summat that won't break the bank?

77inch LG C4 Oled at £1999 is almost too good to miss up, however that would need my current tv to break in order to get SWMBO to not have a heart attack. Tempted to remove the fuse from the plug....
Also need my current TV to break to get a new one. But it's me in my case stopping me.

A strong sucker (leaves)
A new phone (probably not good deals)
Some final camping bits
Gloves

Black.....BLACK......

BLAAACCCKKKK!! LIKE THE ENDLESS BLACKNESS OF SPACE,

Black! like the clouds of death that follow me in to the forest of doom, and hide , and hide on the wardroves of darkness

I just bagged one of these cases..

Serious upgrade from the crappy EDIT aero cool case it's in.... It's also better case than the lian li pc a-10 that my main rig is running in..

Absolute bargain for 50 quid reduced from 100ish.

I was worried that it might not have the front panel usb-c cable but it does-some of the older revisions didn't include it, so I'm very happy with it!

It's a really nice case but no RGB, which I actually think is a bonus!
