What are you hoping for on black friday?

Might buy some new RAM if I spot a good deal. Sure one of my sticks is on its way out and casing the occasional crash.

Pretty sure it’s just a scam in general with very few actual good deals though. When I was at school I worked in a large retail store and in November / December time we had to spend hours increasing the prices on stuff so they could offer a bigger discount in January a 5% discount suddenly became 25%

These kind of deals are almost always a scam if you are looking for a 'random bargain'.

If you are looking for something specific though, and know what the normal price is, there can be good deals to be had*

*that said, the whole hype aroud 'black friday' or whatever, is mostly when retailers reduce slow moving stock that they struggle to sell.

Someone in the family wants the "new alexa"

i assume they mean they want

Echo Dot (Newest gen) | Big vibrant sound Wi-Fi and Bluetooth smart speaker with Alexa | Charcoal

Alexa is just an AI feature that can come in the form of many different types of devices

I'm not really in to alexa's so i have no idea what im looking at

Seeing scam deals on at the rainforest with 40% off deals but when you look into them further you see similar prices literally a few days back

Wasnt this in the news before? they investigated amazon over this, as they were listing deals which were same as previous prices

Use Keepa. It'll show you a graph of historical Amazon prices right on the product page so you shouldn't need to worry about that.

I picked up one direct form Yum Asia as it was £5 cheaper, thanks for the tip on the model though, it's helpful to know what is good in the world of rice cookers.

The Rolls Royce of Rice cookers would be a Zojirushi but anything with Fuzzy Logic will do the same thing.

You just want to avoid a "dumb" one.

I was going to try to look for a cheap laptop for my dad, but I'm more of a desktop PC person and I don't really know what I'm looking for in laptops, outside of just plucking one at random. Without spending hours researching, finding the longevity and varying degrees of fixability of laptops makes my head spin.

For myself, I might be looking at upgrading my storage with some hard drives. Not really seen anything outside of that.

I just use a console to play discs. Might be more expensive but you also get to play games so it is a win win.
So we currently don't have a disc console, only a switch for the kids, and the wife has a bunch of old DVDs she refuses to get rid of and this is supposed to have decent upscaling.
