What are you reading?

Nice choice!!

I'm currently reading Star Wars - The Dark Nest 3 - Swarm War by Troy Denning.

Last part of a trilogy of books. Part 1, The Joiner King was ok, spent most of it's time setting up the story and wasn't overly exciting and quite honestly I was getting bored toward the end of it. However, as the groundwork was laid in part 1, parts 2 and 3 have been utterly gripping. Can't wait to read the conclusion and move onto the Legacy of the Force series.

Good trilogy of books but I was expecting more from it I mean after the Yuuzhan Vong war it just pales in comparison however the Legacy series has got us back on the same sort of track as the YV war

Yeah, the NJO series was utterly amazing. I can understand why there was a bit of uproar among the fans at the start of the series, but I thought that Vector Prime was exactly what the Star Wars EU needed, a bit of a wakeup call, it's such a shame that the author was much maligned after it and even received death threats!

Anyway, I wonder what's coming after LotF is all done and dusted... Hopefully there'll be some more post-RotJ and post-LotF story arcs! I have a feeling though everything will be on hiatus to write stories based around the new series thats coming out...

I'm really not a fan of Clone Wars era stories in general. :(

Im reading the Garden of Rama at the moment. Not as good as the first obviously, but its still good imo.
I wasn't that struck with Garden of Rama; Rama Revealed isn't bad though.

I've just started reading Absolution Gap after reading Revelation Space and Redemption Ark. I'd never read anything by Alastair Reynolds before but I quite like what I've read so far. If you like space opera in the vein of Iain M.Banks then you'd probably like these.

Shakey - Neil Young's biography. It's quite a good read, half way through and he's only just left Buffalo Springfield.

Next up is The World At War (from the TV Documentary)
Then, The story of The Who -Before I get old.
:)

Currently reading The Horse and His Boy, in french! Ran out of my english books here and after failing miserably at reading a pratchett in french went for something a bit easier. Helps that I know the book well anyway.

Just finished Bram Stroker's Dracula and now reading American Psycho..

Dracula was very good.. gripping stuff but hard to read due to the way it was written.. but at the same time that added to the atmosphere the book had.

Watched the film shortly after.. was horrified.. did the book no justice at all. imo.

American Psycho is brilliant so far. I've seen the film.. which is helping me with the characters and placement.. and to a degree the way it is written.. only 60 pages in tho.. so no killings yet.

I've heard horrific stories about this book tho...

I like your taste.

American Psycho and Dracula sound good, I've a few Stephen Kings to get through. Christine currently.

The High Lord: The Black Magician Trilogy Book Three by Trudi Canavan

Nearing the end. Very good trilogy if your into the fantasy genre. I highly rate it

I have loads to read, im currently reading Kerry Katonas auto-biography.

Kerry - Too much, Too young.

I only really like reading auto-biographies... Dont know why.

I finished the Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass so I've started reading On The Road by Jack Kerouac. However August 1914 by Solzhenitsyn has arrived now as well so I guess I'll be alternating between the two so I can take part in the book club thread.

If you've finished the Dark Materials Trilogy you might want to read Lyra's Oxford (its a short story set after the Trilogy that sets you up ready for the next series of books that are due).
