What are you squeamish about?

I know a few people that won't eat meat with bones in it because it reminds them of an animal and it puts them off. Personally, I find this pretty pathetic and I've always been of the opinion that if you won't eat all of it then don't eat it at all. Other people don't like the idea of eating tentacles, or even skin. It's all dinner for me. Load my plate up :p

However, having said that, I do have my limits...

Off-limits for me are tripe, eyeballs, brain, gonads and penis. I can't bring myself to try them. I'd try them in the right restaurant, but I'm not going out my way to cook it at home.

What about you guys?

I tend to prefer muscle-meat, so all organs are off the cards for me save for liver pate. Black pudding? Not bloody (lol) likely!

Don't mind bones in chicken or pork ribs, but I prefer no bones getting in my way.

No problems with tentacles, but avoid skin and large chunks of fat like crackling purely for health reasons.

Twig and berries are a no-no, as are eyeballs. Dolphin, seal, penguin et al are off the menu too.

I'm not a fan of skin, but only because I don't like it, not because I'm squeamish.

Don't enjoy a full fish on my plate, as they watch you eat them!

I'm probably the same as the OP.

Not keen on things like liver though, although I love duck pate. nom!!!

Oh, not too keen on white bait either as having 200+ eyes watching you eat isn't particularly nice, plus seeing it in reverse along with a bottle of red wine (my mate, not me) - that bit of road was stained red for over 2 years as well!!!

Exactly this for me as well. Also, a big no to snails. I tried one and couldn't bring myself to eat it so spat it out.

I've tried pidgeon but wouldn't eat it again.. all I could think of is dirty Leicester Square pidgeons.

..... I didn't know what black pudding was actually made from until this..
Quick google.. bleurgh! Thanks krooton :(

I'll try most things in a restaurant, as long as it's a good one. At home I stick to prime cuts of meat, fish and mainstream seafood (i.e. No Sea Cucumber et all, but muscles, cockles, whelks, prawns etc. are fine).

I really don't get people that won't eat meat on the bone. Or those that won't eat fish skin when it's lovely, caramelised and crispy (it's the tastiest and most nutritious part!).

Nothing, i will eat and try anything, and pretty much have, even kill my own for food.

Stuffed ox heart is a faveourite of mine, we still use cow heal as well.

I'm not squeamish about anything, but there are some things that I find unpalatable.

I wouldn't eat eyes, tripe or twigs 'n' berries unless I had too, and choose not to eat them because I don't have to.

fwiw, I regularly gralloch/draw various animals/birds, and enjoy eating them, and not much goes to waste :)

I don't eat anything that counts as ofal (guts, lights, eyes, brain etc.) and I won't touch tentacles. Other than that bring it on!

Oh and snail etc. Anything like that, yuck

Any soft meat fat. I'll tolerate it in stuff like salami and chorizo due to deliciousness, but unless it's crispy I try to avoid it. Crackling is awesome as long as I've pulled most of the soft fat out, as are crunchy pork scratchings. Can't stand stringy fat on bacon though or pancetta/lardons that are mostly fat. Crisp that *** up!

Lardons in a dish need to be fatty. Risotto with non fatty lardons would be weird.

I wouldn't want them without being in a sauce or whathavyer. The texture is awful.

non fatty lardons

I just found a name for my new rap group.

On the whole I'd just avoid lardons rather than try and make something without them/substituting them. If they were served to me I'd eat them but on the whole I'm just not a fan of soft or rubbery fat. Strangely, I'll happily ply butter onto a bread roll though, but rarely on anything else.

Another odd one is that I eat peas and sweetcorn on their own as side dishes, say with a roast or other meal, or corn on the cob, but not a fan of them in other things e.g. sweetcorn on a pizza or peas in a risotto. I'll still eat it if need be but it almost spoils that meal for me.

Ah, see I quite like peas in a risotto, but sweetcorn has no place on a pizza.

How do you feel about beans in a chilli though?

That's fine, unless it's more beans than chilli! Or if it's kidney beans and they're hard as hell. I find beans quite filling though and would prefer more meat tbh.

Edit: I've just realised that this is straying away from 'squeamish' and is more 'what foods do you tolerate'. In reality there's few things I wouldn't eat, apart from maybe some of the weird things like chickens' feet or those eggs with the embryos inside. Bleugh.

Pot Noodles. Won't touch the things; smell so bad it's untrue.

Fish eyes are lovely, not tried the eyes of anything else.

Anything like custard, rice pudding or crème brûlée and also gherkins instantly make me want to vomit.

All the stuff listed in the OP probably wouldn't go down well either though.
