I need to order the glasses but once ive got those im all set to go and i'll let you know in detail. The eye strain depends on the person. From what ive read online it seems that most people have a little bit of eyestrain within 2 hours or so playing/watching in realD (anaglyph is different - those colour glasses - will have much more eyestrain for anyone). If in realD (imax/3d vision etc) your eyestrain becomes worse over a fairly short period of time it is suggested that it is because of minor problems with your sight that the 3d effect amplifies and you should visit an optician. And finally there are those lucky ones like myself and aaronhowe who have little to no eyestrain/headaches at all using the 3d effect and the effect can actually look better to us as our eyes are as they would for anything else are under less strain, and can focus and perceive better.
