What are your NVIDIA® 3D Vision experiences?

I need to order the glasses but once ive got those im all set to go and i'll let you know in detail. The eye strain depends on the person. From what ive read online it seems that most people have a little bit of eyestrain within 2 hours or so playing/watching in realD (anaglyph is different - those colour glasses - will have much more eyestrain for anyone). If in realD (imax/3d vision etc) your eyestrain becomes worse over a fairly short period of time it is suggested that it is because of minor problems with your sight that the 3d effect amplifies and you should visit an optician. And finally there are those lucky ones like myself and aaronhowe who have little to no eyestrain/headaches at all using the 3d effect and the effect can actually look better to us as our eyes are as they would for anything else are under less strain, and can focus and perceive better.

I think he's on a college course, and is just copying and pasting our replies into his course questions. He's on ignore regardless, it's getting old.

It is a valid question me thinks.

Kind of thinking about upgrading my machine and getting 120 hertz monitor for 3d gaming but looking at the games I play (car racing sims, Total war games) I can't decide if it is worth it.

Like I said before I enjoy hearing people opinions and experiences as I am thinking of upgrading to 3D gaming but think what you want.

Played Batman AA and Need for Speed Shift at the Gadget Show Live earlier this year.

I thought it was very good, maybe made games seem a little bit darker, but the 3D effect was as good as any movie I've seen in 3D.

It's quite expensive to get setup for what is essentially a gimmick.

Would you say its a better experience than 2d?

isn't it only like £350 with a high-end monitor?

Would love to give it a go - but I'm not forking out hundreds of quid just to try it, and I've not had an opportunity to have a go on any of the demo rigs.

I don't think it's better, it's different.

The same way it is with films.

Avatar was an amazing cinema experience in 3D, but the same film on Bluray was fairly dull and boring.

I think it may well be the case with games, some may well be a great experience in 3D. But unless developers find a way in make it part of the gameplay, then it could end up being an expensive gimmick.

I have a 3d vision setup and the effect is great, no eyestrain and works with most games. However i wish they'd let opengl work on the geforce series and not limit it to the quad's given it worked fine on all platforms under xp.. We got some great games (doom, quake, penumbra) that would benefit from it if they could be bothered to support it.

Also stop limited convergence settings in '3d ready' titles - its fkin annoying!
