Hey,

So I asked for LOADS of games for christmas in the hopes of getting one or two!

I ended up with Star Fluxx this year and I'm happy with that :D

Was supposed to get Castle Panic but it went out of print :(

I also bought my dad a copy of Carcassonne - can't wait to get stuck in!

What did you guys get? :D

Didn't get anything, but did have my first game of Settlers of Catan (bought it at beginning of December with this in mind). Really enjoyed it actually, the gf also seemed to have good fun with it :D

Robinson Crusoe, Dungeon Lords and purchased a lesser known 2 player hidden role card game called Vampire Empire for my girlfriend.

Have had a game of Robinson Crusoe which was fun and a nice challenge, but the rule book was awful, really needs an index.

Also had a few quick games of Vampire Empire. Really good, fairly simple but loads of bluffing. Love the artwork style too.

Sounds good so far! :D

I do wish I could play more bluffing games but my dad simply cannot lie to save himself which kinda ruins it in a 3 player game :p

I bought (for myself) in the two weeks leading up to Christmas:

The Resistance
King of Toyko
Carcassone (Winter edition)
Android: Netrunner

Was hoping to play king of Tokyo with my extended family on Christmas day but never got around to it, now i'll have to wait 'til my friends and I can arrange another game day.

One of whom got Game of Thrones: Second Edition so we'll play that as well.

Prior to that we'd had only really got together 3-4 times to play Risk 2210.

I got Love Letter, Agricola:More Buildings Big and Small and Legendary : Fantastic Four. The latest Pathfinder Adventure Card Game expansion also popped through my door on Christmas eve. Also got a stack of cash, so might treat myself to something too :)

King of Toyko

Father Christmas brought that for my son, looking forward to a game tomorrow. My other boy got Relic, did the initial set up and a few rounds yesterday but had to move it as other things needed the table. Will give it another go soon.

We also got two more expansions (Bloodmoon and Frostmarch) for Talisman, they go with The Reaper we already have so a real big pile of adventure cards now! Also we have alternate endings...

I got a great haul this Christmas. I've gotten more into boardgames as I prefer the to wargames just for setting them up and having fun with my friends.

From my parents I got:

Eldritch Horror, Firefly the board game and Android Netrunner: Opening Moves & Second Thoughts.

My brother got me Takenoko & Flashpoint Fire Rescue, whilst my nephews got me Smash Up! & the two expansions. My best mate got me Android Netrunner: Mala Tempora.

I'm going to use Flashpoint, Takenoko & Smash Up! to get my nephews into gaming when they're a little bit older. My brother isn't into games & technically he's paying for it :) Although he did comment today that Flashpoint looked really good and interesting, maybe there's hope for him yet :)

Impressive haul! :)

As for your brother I think you may be right - finding the right theme to engage people is very important! Still struggling with my mum on that front....

I got some zombicide coloured dice sets - orange, red and black - to go with my white set. More exciting than it sounds! (for me anyways)
