i've installed my 128gb m4, with my old hdd plugged in a a astorage drive. it's still got everything on it from my old windows 7 install. I want to keep documents, music etc

Just delete everything apart from the folders that have the files you want to keep.

Afterwards, you can change the location of the Windows 7 library folders (documents, pictures, downloads etc.) to the folders on your hard drive. I you don't know how to do this - all you have to do is go to your personal folder (start, then your name at the top above documents etc.) then find the folder (eg. my documents) right click, properties, location tab, move, then select the directory on your storage hard drive.

any reason you can't keep documents , music etc on your old drive and just use the ssd for o/s and specific apps ?

ah ok my mistake i thought u wanted to tidy up the ssd :(.

ok, next question. windows wont let me delete the old program files and windows folders, any idea how to get rid of 'em?

did i miss somethiong or .... just keep a clean install of win xyz on ur ssd... and main progs on it also or just keep everything else on the hdd

tbh i would keep the hdd as it is and new os install on the ssd and a couple main programs then link to the hddd and multi boot....

but yes you can del *.* what you want if u dont want 2 op sys, then copy all the files u want onto a partition on the old hdd remove the os then expand the partition and use it as a storage drive for the os on the ssd

is that what u mean ?
