What can I get for £270?

Seeing as the AMD 69xx cards have dual BIOS, it's pretty simple. Have a read here, a few members of this forum have done it successfully.
nVidia 460 SLi. My friend had 470 and said, it's getting unbelievably hot.
2x460 would do great job (I have just one and it's great)
The 470's aren't cool cards, granted, but in game mine reach 84 and 80 degrees on the cores (top/bottom cards) which I would hardly call too hot. This is with both cards overclocked too.
The 570 runs slightly louder than both the 6950 and 6970 at load

What about 480?
From most reports noise measured via instrument is similar for both cards, but to the human ear the 6900 fans emit a much more annoying whine. Here is an example.
6970 is much louder than gtx 570. comparing reference with reference. 6950 is quieter and comparible with 570. I'd personally pick the gtx 570. and as already pointed out can be picked up for around your budget.
unlocked 6950, if you do suceed in unlocking it, is a better choice economically though and'll save u some cash.

Thanks all, maany are saying that you can pick a 570 up for my budget, I have been looking around..and have found none! So where are all of you thinking of getting on?

I found a POV for £269.99 and a KFA2 for £273.87 both in stock and with free delivery in a matter of seconds
Not so sure this is a such a good idea, the op is struggling to google for a cheap gtx 570 which is considerably easier than flashing a 6950 to a 6970

Cheers for that....funny. tbh I just havent bothered looking. I found one on ******. the only reason I dont want to get the 570 is because I still need a OS for under and because I dont know how good the service from ****** is compared to oc, reviews say good and bad! But It would be nice for oc to lower the price! Apart from the 570 what does everyone else recommend?
OP, whatever you decide to buy I'm sure you'll be more than happy with the performance, whether it be the 6950, 6970 or 570.

So your price bracket is actually £200-£220 for the graphics card? That pretty much leaves just the 6950. nVidia don't yet have a competing card in that price range. The GTX560 should fill the gap when released, sometime at the end of January.

No, my budget is MAX £270 I just cant go any higher!
