S2000?
£10k - Way more than you need
Fun - Check
2ltr - Check
35mpg - Erm, if you don't want to have any fun then sure
How about something like a Cliosport 182 real tidy example for 3k
2litre check,
and doing 70 miles a day I used to get 35mpg easy.
However you could then look at newer hot hatches if that is too old.
Fiesta st's
newer clio models like the 197
Corsa VXR
For between 3-10k you could pick up a nice hot hatch, the budget would also stretch to a nice focus st but that will not get you the lower running costs you would like.
Maybe need to narrow things down so people know what cars you like?
There are so many, mazda 3mps again or the fabia vrs for some differant suggestions.
Personally I would not spend the whole budget at 21 with your 3rd year at uni still to do(or masters as well). However I dont know your financial situationAll I know is there is loads to choose from!
If it helps I had a 172 and 182 and loved both.

is it worth changing?

Tbh this!
I'd presumed you were coming from something more "usual" for the average student.
£10k, fun, reasonably sensible and not a bomb to run. (Im 21, student, going on placement next year).
Something around the 2ltr mark, 35+ mpg?
Thanks.
Think you missed my previous post.... I would have asked mum if instead of trading it in, i could buy it off her, but with it going through 2 new learners, and 3 drivers in total it was starting to fall apart.
I'll have to look into the insurance of hot hatches, I was under the impression that they were expensive as they are something that new drivers want. You're right, I've got a year of placement then 2 more uni years left so its got to last a while this car! Can't see me being able to afford one after uni!
You're right in saying theres to much choice! I can't decide! But I'm coming from a Mk5 Golf GT FSI 2.0, so it has to be nicer than that!
My perfect car would be something that is reasonably nippy (8 secs to 60 ish?), cheap to run, and can do some motorway miles. I couldn't really have a small sports car like an mx5 as id need more space.
EDIT: My perfect car would be a B5 RS4 avant.. slight issue with the running costs however
2008 on a 54 plate? Also if it is a 54 plate then 10k is a lot to spend on a ten year old car. But that's just me![]()
They are solid cars
You're 21. Buy something with no roof and a pussy magnet equipped as standard. Unless the rear seats are for transporting more than one girl at a time? Spend £8k on an S2000 and the rest of the budget on insurance.
