What can you do to Clio 182 ?

Throttle bodies, cams, remap, etc would see about 220bhp.

Weighing in at sub 1000kgs if stripped, your looking at 220-230bhp/T.

Oh and it would have you in the twisties aswell :)

what sort of power output can you get them to ?

with ITBs/cams anywhere between 200 and 230 usually

with turbo normally around 300 if the internals have been done etc

and lately there have been some supercharger kits around, seem to be very very effective :)

Mine couldnt make 300, well not running on the cams it was on. But 230 was plenty to see off most cars off the line.

Did you have all the internals done, pistons rods etc? I'd have thought with all that done even without cams you'd be able to whack the boost up enough for 300.

Might not be reilable, but it should hit it I'd have thought :p

Like you say though, 230 is plenty in these things

Still hitting 190 which is plenty and accelerates through the gears lovely, well with a new gearbox and clutch it does. a bit noisy but not unbearable.

A charger works by being mechanically driven off the actual engine by a belt to provide increased air pressure (that's really basic and probably the wrong way to say it lol)

A turbo works by using exhaust gases to spin a compressor which provides the increased air pressure (again basic and probably the wrong way to describe it)

the initial setup killed 2 boxes, added 16" OZ superleggeras after Andy at GDI said the gearing was wrong! Rolling roaded it at 1360 down the road and they said that it was running like a piece of ****.They were right,it was un-driveable in its current form.Lovely off the line but it was a pain to live with with the decat etc,way to loud.

i bet!

Whlist there are times i wish mine had a bit more oomph 90% of the time it's enough :)

Its still to loud now but god does it fly, dont know if i can sell it if im honest[got offered £800 on a trade in for a 2003 M3] I would rather keep it for a track car than sell it for that. Its cost me over 3K to keep it on the road since August.

A turbo powers itself from the exhaust flow, and a supercharger powers itself off the crank itself.

EDIT: Badly beaten! Too many pints.

Sorry Rotty for taking the OP off camber but to answer your question i was pulling sub 6 seconds 0-60 and gripped like hell.

Supercharger = always spooling up.
Turbo = Spools up at a certain rpm.

S/C is a much more liner delivery, Turbo is what Honda boys like to think they have when vtech kicks in ;)

this one was certainly significantly sub 5

Couldnt get the power down in mine unless it was bone dry and i got the clutch right. But i put a bit of that down to my lack of skill off the line. My mate at work runs a mini with a RS turbo engine in it and got more luck than me at the pod. A lot more skill than me.
