What card would be good enough to run COD4 on a 24"

Actually, I don't think a single card cuts it. I get a minimum of 50FPS with Crossfire'd 3870's, spec in sig. Monitor is a Samsung 245B.

Thats with everything at full, 4xAA, 4xAF.

i run it fine with a 8800 GTS (soon the beold old GTS) I'm not saying get one as that would be daft, just that it runs it so the faster GT must handle it...I'm waiting to see what the new GTS is like before i buy a new card (old GTS is sold)

i started playing COD4 yesterday as ive got all settings on full we just a 7600GT

quad core @ 3.0ghz
ocz 4GB

i am waiting for this supposidly G92 8800GTS whats ment to be out tomorro

How does it play with 4xAA, 8xAF? I'm curious because that's the settings I use (8800GTX), and video ram usage is well over 600Mb according to rivatuner.

Doesn't seem to make a huge amount of difference, maybe lost 10fps all round.
I know it wouldn't really affect the general fps too much, but you'd expect to see some chugging/pausing when the 512Mb of local vram is used up, and textures need to be swapped in/out of system ram. The vram usage probably varies from level to level too, I only checked it after the TV station bit.

Yeah, I checked it out on the last few levels, the missile silo/truck chase/bridge bits.

I daresay that other levels may well have had stutters if they used more than 512MB of texture.

For me, all at full, 1920x1200, 0xAA 16xAF I get well over 60fps without any noticeable slow downs.

That's on an 8800GT... but if I turn 4xAA on, then it slows down too much for me.

So to the poster.... if you're not bothered about AA - you can run at native resolution on a 24" with a single 8800gt.... but if you want AA, you'll need two cards.
