A little while ago I upgraded a few bits on my computer so the current specs for it are:
Q6600
Gigabyte Ds4 board
ATI 4850 1024mb
4gb RAM
I am running Xp, since upgrading the graphics card and processor, on some games i have been experienceing VPU recover a lot, on some games such as GRID it is almost instantly when starting a race.
From doing some research one of the reasons for it seems to be an underpowered PSU, i was running an ANTEX 550W PSU which i think was too low for what i was running. On a bit of an impulse buy at the weekend I got my self an 800W PSU although I think it was a bit of a cheap one, Atrix anyone?!
My googling doesnt seem to have provided me with any definate answers, does anybody have any input to what may be causing ATI to kick the bucket and resort to VPU all the time?
Thanks for any help!
