What did you do to your bike today?

Nice one, I'd love to meet Guy!

Pics would be good! Did you get the Ohlins setup or running your own settings?

Oh and I incorrectly setup my speedohealer tonight...

haha 186mph with half the revs left in 6th gear... nice! ;)

didn't do anything to the bike, but we have just moved in our newly built house a week ago and I've just spent the last 3 days painting the garage ready for my baby to arrive haha.

yes, would love to know how easy it is to install.. not that I would try it myself.

How much did you pay out of interest?

Cheaper than trading in tho :D

This is the Dilemma i'm facing with my 10R, it's now over 4 years old, has 10,000miles on it but it's still stupidly fast and mental to ride, so i'm having doubts over spending another 5k trading in for a newer bike. I think I may just spend 1k or so modding to get it the way i want it and keep it for a few more years.

Currently on the list to be purchased this year:

Akrapovic link pipe - Purchased
-1 front / +1 rear sprockets & chain
HEL brake lines
SBS pads
R-55 exhaust to replace my damaged Akrapovic
HM Quickshifter
Nitron / Ohlins TTX rear shock
Front Springs to match

..and thinking about a Bazzaz on top of that if money allows.

Oh, and remove the bloody alarm... the thing does my head in.

Yeah a little optimistic doing it all for 1k, probably looking at closer to 2k.

-1 +1 on a ZX10? are you insane?

Do it properly and get a set of Carbon Fibre wheels, £2500 well spent :D

The modern 10r's are like a 600cc below 8, 000rpm, its a common mod to change the gearing. I want some low doen grunt!

When I took a 2012 one out for a test ride I found the throttle was extremely long, twisting as much as much CBR just didn't feel quick, then I found the extra bit and the front came straight up, scared the life out of me.

Yeah once it kicks it then the thing takes off. When I first got on it I thought the same as you... 'where is the power..... oh, there it is!!'.

p.s. excuse my typing in the previous post.. I was on my phone.

Was in the same boot a year ago mate. Didnt like the look of any of the new bikes out so spent a bit of cash on upgrades instead

-Ohlins rear shock off the bay
-Brembo master cylinder
-Sent forks off to Maxton for new internals be resprung, new valves and bumpstops and serviced for my weight
-Send Ohlins rear off to Maxton to be resprung and serviced for my weight
-New front sprocket - 1
-New EBC sintered pads

That little lot didnt cost the earth but totally transformed the bike. Handles like a dream now.

I WAS going down that route, but I came across a deal this week that was to good to turn down . I had a test ride this morning and it's safe to say I will be swapping if all goes to plan. More info/pics this week hopefully :D

Rode it.. and got it filthy :(

All clean again now though... until tomorrow when i'm heading to a 675 meet.

Really not enjoying running it in, can't go above 6,000rpm...

About 200miles left :( I can then take it to 8,000rpm. The manual says to not take it above 8,000rom until you've done 1,000miles.. i think that is OTT though. All the people I speak to just say either ride it normally after 200miles or just take it easy for first 500miles.

I have a curved mount stuck to the top of my helmet, seems to work well but the wind noise at anything about 60/70 kinda sucks.

I'm going to try and mount it on the side of the helmet as you get a better view from eye height and also get to see some of the bike too, instead of just the view ahead.

nice, looks lovely mate :)

I would never have another bike with an alarm though. I had the Datatool S4 on my 10R and if I had kept the bike it would have been ripped out this year. It does your head in after a while and drains the battery.
