What did you do to your bike today?

Harpic max power bleach bought some header pipes I put on my bike. I worked on them before fitting but no reason you could'nt do it while it's on the bike. Pretty sure there are vids of people using it on youtube

Edit:

It says right at the end of the vid not to use on chrome

Cleaned the bike, still got to finish off the wheels and swingarm as it was so filthy I couldn't get everything off with a jet wash. I'll do the headers with harpic tomorrow and give it a wipe with ACF50. The bike looks so much better when its clean...

Yeah. It was fully ACF50'd up - but I guess all the abrasive stuff from the road, along with the heat, stripped it off the pipe :(.

I used magifoam in that pic. It foams up really well.

ACF50 burns off almost straight away unfortunately :( (their words).

I keep my bits of exposed downpipe clean by using FS365 after a wet ride which helps keep the dirt loose until I can clean it at the weekend. Then I apply sdoc for 30 mins and use the rough side of my wash mitt to scrub it. It has some black spots of tar or tyre marbles (they'd come out with a few mins of 00 wire wool or even a cloth and some wd40) but otherwise still looks new.

They look like stock headers and link pipe on a bandit which are stainless after the clean you can mirror finish if he wanted.

Chrome has to be treated with more care.

Waterless clean today on the Bandit with wash and wax anywhere from meguiars. Got it on the centre stand to lube the chain and the back brake is binding.
Previous owner fitted a scotoiler which I think needs filling up. Also corrosion on wheels and other bits needs sorting.
Previous owner obviously just rode it and didn't bother cleaning it.

Actually considered trading it in for a 2017 Ninja 650 because it's so cosmetically challenged.

Saved at least 100g of weight :p - cleaned my front sprocket cover out. Sprocket itself is looking good for 10k miles. Nice and clean now.

Need to take my headlight apart and see if LED will fit.

Done 180 miles and noticed on the return leg there is a squealing coming from the front wheel it's not brake related, starts around 30mph and sounds metallic. My best guess until I get the wheel out tomorrow is that the bearings are shot.

Not surprising they've not been changed in my ownership so at least 18k miles old and they were on my list to get changed when I replaced the front tyre. Now I'm just thinking is it worth getting the rubber done now as well to save on 2 lots of labour.

Sounds like bearings.
Can you get the front end up off the ground? Best way is to wobble the wheel, if it moves side to side when the bars are still. Bearings are definitely shot.

Got this for £25

Yeah I've got the abba front lift kit so I'll get it up and off tomorrow. Luckily we've not hit the season yet so should be able to get it in the garage Monday/Tuesday

Had the front wheel off, bearings felt smooth and no rumbling but the noise doesn't start until around 30mph anyway so just rolling them around with my finger probably wouldn't show it up. Anyway it also meant I had a good look at the tyre which is showing some really weird wear, one side still has a good bit before the wear indicator whereas the other side isn't far off it.

On the plus side that's made my mind up about getting the tyre done now and it'll only cost me a tenner to get the bearings swapped out at the same time. Expensive month with house insurance, bike insurance and now new tyre time :o

Pistons are going to need popping out and polishing up as well when it's warmer and dry, they're looking a bit sorry for themselves.
