What did you learn to drive in?

I learnt in a range of cars due to me taking ages to pass my test due to being lazy.

1.3i MK2 Micra, which was a bit rubbish if you ask me

1.5TD Corsa

1.7 DTI (?) Corsa, better than the others

2001 Renault Clio 1.5 DCi

for a couple of weeks my instructor had to put up with a 1.2 corsa because she got rear ended while on a lesson. that was dire i the clio was actually pretty nice.

I miss my driving lessons, instructor was a right laugh :)

So do i. Ive got my own car now, but i never really just go out for the sake of it, whereas my instructor had me all over the place.

1.2 Clio, then a week before my test she changed to a 1.4 Rover 25. Didn't have a problem at all adapting, even got a few free lessons out of it :D

Never uderstand people who can't just jump into cars and drive them.

lol agreed with above, i've jumped into whatever I've driven and driven it fine (providing I don't nail it lol)

I learnt with quite a few instructors due to swapping location a couple of times!!!

1) 307 2.0 HDi - too big for a learners car (to me, at the time) but not too bad
2) Corsa 1.3 CDTi 5 door thing... nice enough to drive, easier to learn in than the pug
3) New Mini 1.4 turbo diesel, chipped (think it was around 120BHP and god knows how much torque), cooper suspension, wheels, styling etc - cool car but everything felt a lot heavier than the others
4) Nissan Micra 1.2 16v (new shape) - dead easy car to drive, everything really light, bit gutless though

Fiat Stilo for me. :)

Was a decent car to learn in. I like people who learn in the bigger sized cars, get's them used to spacial awareness better. Plus the car had some poke to it, so it was nice to learn in that, over say a 1.1 or 1.2 for example. :) I hate seeing people driving little micra's who don't know the size of the car when trying to go through a gap or narrow road. You really had to concentrate parking that car, because for a first time driver it seems massive.

All good fun!
