So decided to buy myself an Xbox one to play with friends etc when not on PC. Got a pretty good deal on one with 4 games. The seller had no feedback but after a few !messages back and forth he seemed pretty genuine. Bought the item and paid around 1PM on saturday. He updated the item saying it was despatched and provided a tracking ID. Tried to track it and it didn't work, decided it was a bit early to track it so just left it.

Woke up today to an email from eBay MC999 that the listing has been took down. And when I go to my items that I have won I can't view them and it says Invalid or non-existent content ID. So I can't view the item and get the tracking number or can't even contact the seller. The tracking number still doesn't work and comes up "Special Delivery Guaranteed™ items are first tracked when they have reached our mail centre. This may be late in the evening on the day the item was sent. Information on your Special Delivery Guaranteed™ item is not yet available."

Should I be worried? Tracking number still not working and item is paid for and I have no contact with the seller.

how did you pay for it? paypal?

If so id be straight onto cancel the payment if you can, sounds dodgy to me, with sites like ebay, infact anywhere i normally keep to the premise that if its too good to be true then in all likely hood it really is.

Hopefully its just a mixup, but if i were you id be getting onto paypal asap. If its a credit card linked to it you could possibly even block the payment.

Paid around 12 on Saturday and he updated the item to it said it was despatched at around 1PM on Saturday

You do realise it is the weekend right?

Sounds odd that the listing was removed but i wouldn't worry about the tracking not saying anything yet. It will probably update tomorrow.

Though he managed to get it to the post office and dispatched in an hour after you paid? Not out of the realms of possibility i suppose.

I read that royal mail still make collections on Saturdays tho so thought they might have received it and scanned it since its Royal mail 48 hour. It sounds like the item wasn't closed by the seller but by eBay but would like to know why.

No need to panic. Wait 48 hours to see if the tracking starts to work. If it doesn't or if what you receive isn't what you expect then raise an eBay case and you will be refined in full. EBay is very much in favour of the buyer in cases like this.

I've had this before on an expensive item. It turned out the seller had an issue with another item he was selling and ebay suspended him. I received the item and his account was re-opened once his issue with the other seller was resolved.

If you paid PayPal goods then you are almost certainly covered. He needs to prove that it was delivered to stop you claiming that it wasn't. If I were you, I would not be worried at all.

I can confirm that the post office still collects on Saturdays as long as it's before 1PM IIRC. I posted a dozen or so items first class last Saturday and positive feedback started coming in on the Monday.

Think i'll wait till monday and try tracking it. If I still can't then I think it's time to worry. Been chatting with the people on eBay live chat but they are pretty useless as they just ended the chat twice without answering my questions pfff

I bought the gf some makeup the other day, the item was removed afterwards, received it and it was fake, so it hasn't been the best experience for me when an item disappears after I've paid, so just wait and see if something gets delivered.

Finally spoke to someone useful after the 3rd attempt of using Live Chat. Got disconnected from that one as well but at least they followed it up by an email.

"Hello Mark,

Thank you again for contacting eBay Live Help.

I would like to apologise for the inconvenience. We experienced some technical difficulties a moment ago and this caused your chat to be disconnected.

Regarding the item you've paid for but it was removed here in eBay. Let me inform you again,

I've checked this item on our system and I can see we removed the listing from the website as it breached eBay policy. Unfortunately we weren't made aware of this item until after the listing had ended. As it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, we can't share details about another member's account.

I can also see that the seller's account is also suspended at the moment, however even if the seller is currently suspended it doesn't mean that you won't received the item.

In this case, I suggest that you wait for the item to received as you mentioned on the chat that it was dispatched according to the email you received.

However, if in case you still haven’t received the item please do file a case of an item not received and this will help you secure your refund. Please be advised that you have 45 days to file a case from the time you pay for the item. It means you can file the case up until on the 18th of March 2014."

There's really no point worrying too much about it, if you paid with PayPal goods you will either get your item or your money back. It's what you pay your PayPal feels for :)

Probably paid online, through ebay or through Royalmail. Then you just add the tracking number to the listing.

This happened to a friend of mine a couple of years ago, he was certain he was not going to receive the item but to his astonishment, it did!

So don't despair just yet and as Zefan said, worst case scenario is to file a dispute through ebay.
