When i get my system up and running im going to take this harddrive and put it on the new system so i can put my films and games on that,Is there anything i have to do or does it show up like when i add my usb flash drive.:)

Hi if it's sata and vista/W7?.just install in pc and when you boot up it will load it up and find it.you might need to rename drive if it's C'drive in present pc or you could just reformat then start a fresh.
I have C'drive then other's go D/E atmo ive left a gap as have space for 4 drives then two dvd drives are G&H.
hope that help's?

not sure if they will work together? plus it's abit driving your car with the brakes on or a racing car with big knobbley tyres IDE's slooooow.

Windows will automatically assign the drive letter when you've created a partition on the new drive (Or you can choose a custom one that's not in use (except C))

Anyway, installation should go something along these lines:

Plug it in.

When booted into Windows, right click My Computer then choose Manage

Go to Disk Management and scroll down to your hard drive, right click that and initialise, go through the wizard to format and partition

Job done

Thanks i didn't really want to spend out more mone for another hard drive just so i can have games on it and and watch films.

Ok well if thats the case then i think ill get a sata one at a later time as ive allready gone well over my budget.
