What do people use as "sound" for pc's

Seperates are the best, but they will cost the most. Simple :)

I use a Rotel RA-01 paired with some Monitor Audio BR2s, linked to the PC via a USB DAC/Amp designed for headphones (not ideal as I'm feeding amped signal into an amp)

How much you are willing to spend, what you use you P.C. for (games, movies, music, etc) and size of your room, have a bearing on what to recommend. If you could be a little more forthcoming with some details, I'm sure you will get some informative and useful suggestions.
I would agree with Hxc though:-

I use 2.1 Speakers... they sound amazing even though they are only £30... lol.
I can't imagine how the Aego's would sound once i get my hands on them :D

serparates seem to be the answear! Headphones not really gonna be anygood for me as I would like a sound system that will fill the room with music.

Anyone got any recommendations with £300??

Currently using laptop/monitor speakers.. rubbish and tinny, but I'm only here for a couple of weeks before moving again, and it's too much of a chore to set up my Z-5500s unless I'll actually stay in one place for longer than a few weeks, unless I'm really pining for some bass lovin'! I'm very happy with them, but then I've not known anything more expensive/better.. they set me back £200ish in August last year.
Can't recommend anything really though because I don't know anything at that price point, sorry.

Sepearates.

M-audio 2496
NAD C320BEE
B&W 601s3

I bought the above for less than £300.

Use my Zune (with music in lossless) connected to my Audio Technica ESW9 when I want to be quiet.

I has a NADC325 Bee fed from a Xonar D2x (I want to change this to a D2 model if anyone wants to do a swap? legit reason) which feeds a pair of Mordaunt-Short floorstanders and of course my HD555 headphones.

Quality is super duper \m/

PC > DAC > Tube amp > Headphones = Bliss

:D

Or have yourself a nice stereo integrated amp and a pair of bookshelf speakers. I wouldn't bother with a cheap av receiver and speakers, just because it limits your upgrade options. With a stereo setup you can add more speakers at a later date and they WILL be far superior than little satellites. But this assumes your room can accomodate a number of bookshelves.
