What do people use as "sound" for pc's

Just shifted things around a little. Currently:

Headphones: Auzentech X-Fi Prelude->Optical->Victor SU-DH1->Goldring NS1000 or DR150
Speakers: Auzentech X-Fi Pelude->Sony STR-D511->Sony SS 86 E stereo speakers.
 
I'ld look at headphones first. Hifi seperate systems are nice but they use a lot of space and in a cluttered room like mine they're never going to sound great. Also headphones always offer better directional sound for me.

Oh and my current setup is

Onboard sound (soon to be upgraded) > JVC AX-2 > Celestion Hadleigh MK2

Onboard sound > Audio Technica A900 (i don't use the amp as they don't need it and it reduced the sound stage)

X-Fi ExtremeMusic/Asus Xonar DX-> Logitech Z680s (speakers wall-mounted), for movies and gaming.

For music, SqueezeBox->DAC->Marantz PM7001->Kef iQ1s...
