Hello,

My Premuim Xbox 360 died just before x-mas, looks like the graphics part is dead will not display a image. No red lights they are all green and boot up as normal just no picture.

Called MS and gonna cost £60 to fix.

I have been out and brought a Xbox 360 Elite now.

Carnt make my mind up with what to do with it

1) send away to MS for repair and pay £60, what am i likey to get for it on trade in or second hand price after its repaired ?

2)Sell it now broken for a cheap price and let the new owner send it away for repair ?

3)Dont bother just leave it ?

4)Suggest anything else ?

Thanks Ben

you could force it to have a red light by wrapping it up in a towel and leaving it on? then send it away to be repair for free and then sell it on :p

I would personally go the force it to red light route. Wrap it in a few towels an leave it on for a few hours ;)

My console didn't have 3 red lights and I blagged a free repair with a bit of the gab. Worth a try.

You could probably sell it on an auction site, there are quite a few people who buy faulty consoles and repair them themselves...

Cheers lads gonna try forcing the 3 red lights for a free repair :)

Cheers lads will let you know how i get on.

MS Have ways of seeing whether the 360 has been wrapped in towels. Yes that sounds stupid but when the hardware gets warped to hell or the solder is melted all over the place i t can be quite obvious and they are trained to spot it.

Yeah they are trained :D that's why so many consoles with the warranty seal missing get fixed no problem then :)

And wrapping in towels would not do any more harm or effect to the solder than letting it overheat in a class cabinet.

Just to correct you and I am not being pedantic.
The repair centre is a company called Teleplan, they repair on behalf of MS.
The also do the laptop repairs for a certain big retail group and also for other manufacturers.
