What do you all think of the Inquirer.net?

I used to read Theinquirer all the time, but the consistant bad writing, poor grammar and general sloppiness made it a chore. If the editor can't spot basic spelling mistakes or clean up poor writing, then what does that say about the quality of the content?

I read The Register as it's a lot more professional, although they've recently gone downhill in my opinion too.

As an occasional PC gamer, I upgrade every two to three years but am other wise uninterested in consumer PC technology. During a phase of researching for my next build, I will read the INQ. It has some facts, a lot of opinion and I mostly perceive it as a form of gossip magazine. It has uses, but I don't take everything written on it seriously.

yeah i read the inq.. its funny and does still get the news across.. even though it does take the **** at times..

My lunchtime read goes like this:

Elreg
l'inq
HardOCP
Toms Hardware
Anandtech

Funnily enough theregister and the inquirer have many similar stories, hardocp is probably my fave read, toms has become my least favourite since the redesign, really I just go there to see how good Anandtech is in comparison these days.

Also during the visits to these sites, (esp HardOCP) I usally will branch off to links to other review/news sites that are linked in.

I used to read VoodooExtreme, SharkyExtreme, AMDZone, 2CPU.com and various others but all of them have sort of died a slow painfull death recently.

I disagree wholeheartedly with one of the posters about stuff on Elreg and Inq belonging in a "Bog" :) I despise bogs, bogs are just "Editorial" columns from online publications dressed up in a frock, marketed and repackaged and sold to the masses as another way to get 5 mins of fame

is synonymous with hardware.

Really when i hear the inquirer i always think of "Aliens stole my baby" or I'm having Elvis's love child"

Thats what i gather from the mentionings in films books etc.

Meh possibly same thing cept its "vista stole my baby" "Bill gates probed my husband etc"
