What Do You Do On Weekends?

Drop uncooked pasta everywhere. Took me about 4 hours to pick it all up. Like an explosion in a kerplunk factory!

Made me laugh :D

Rather than asking for ways to cure your boredom, I'd ask yourself the question "why am I bored?". I would focus on treating the cause of the boredom rather than the symptom (which is the state of being bored). Do you have life goals outside of work? Would you be happy to die tomorrow? You could die tomorrow.

so this... another 10 years until i can kick them out and try to get back to blissful boring weekends...

Haha I was talking to a kid-less friend the other day about being shattered as I average about 5hrs sleep a night and said my wife allows me a lie in on a sunday, so I get about 8hrs. He was like wtf?! I slept 14hrs friday night... I didn't hate him at all.

We are always doing something; went to visit family this weekend, wife took kids to lego exhibit, pumpkin show and cinema. It's not all about the kids though, we go out to see friends, meals, playing poker this friday with friends. Mountain biking, or road biking, with friends or alone, either is nice to clear the head and get some nice exercise.
I work in my spare time too, if the wife doesn't kill me. Side projects which keep me going. Learn new things. Taken about 4 online courses this year.
We will often go and visit somewhere we've not been, too. There are loads of unexplored places, which the kids don't mind, but it's really because we enjoy seeing new places.

omg, I (vaguely) remember them days, 14 hours sleep... i'd be happy to get half that at present!! I hope we can acheive something similar to you in a couple of years when they are a bit older...

I'd love to do some online study / training courses too, but the only way I get peace and quiet is to lock myself in the en-suite. Not very conducive to studying...

There's always something keeping me busy

We tend to:
-Visit family and friends
-Cook (make up a load of meals for the week, make jam etc)
-Go to the pub
-Hike (ideal with the dogs - managed to pick about 2kg of blackberries on sunday then make a load of jam)
-Cycle
-Learn/practice instruments
-Guarden, DIY, wash the cars etc.

Infact i regularly don't have time to do things that i want to do like:
-Kitesurf (your near the sea surely)

Weekend off!!

Make the most of it I have not had a Friday, Saturday or Sunday off in in three years. I have the Monday and Tuesday off and work every bank holiday.

I would happily swap with anyone that would like to work one of these.
