What do you guys think to this? - 32" HDTV for £389 at OcUK !!

Shame you don't have space for demo rooms..looking into a 32 myself. Wonder how these compare against "big name" brands.

What's your dead pixel policy?

Have to say that the only thing I'd be careful of is potentially setting OCUK up as the seller of bargainbasictasticTescostyle electronics.
I'd rather see OCUK maintain their high quality reputation by selling genuinely good kit. Whilst the kit listed has good specifications for their prices, doesn't mean it's any better than the tat that you find in places like hypermarkets.

How about getting in representatives from some of the above, along with Sony, Panasonic etc and actually conduct some genuine side by side tests using reasonable quality signals.

I must agree, OcUK has to me always been a supplier of high performance top end kit. These units....are more what i would expect from ebay.

Fine for a bedroom and well worth stocking (infact i am thinking of a 32" cheapy TFT like these for this very purpose) but for a main display i think not?

As an AV installer I agree with Jez and Mr. Sukebe.

I have set up many screens and paper spec's, although informative, do not necessarily reflect real world performance.

Now, I am not saying that these screens are bad, however, a lack of reviews and awareness is slightly off putting.

what if my computer only has DVI, I would like the quality of Digital to be sent to the Panel, rather then step down to analogue VGA

Use a DVI to HDMi adaptor

nice prices, after a 32" LCD for TV, pc and xbox360 use at the moment, but like with any big purchase i'll be waiting for some reviews of the panels about all of the things i would use it for before i'll be buying!
Everything for me will be compared to the Hyundai A321 as its the same price range, so if anyone can do a review on a panel once bought it would be much appreciated :)

after a new 32" tv and these are tempting but as others have said ill wait for reviews ive been eying up the Hyundai A321 for sometime so unless ocuk wanna do a this week only on that at a great price ill wait :p

read a review for the 27" and 32" Mirai last night (found it on google)... they both seem good for the price, but obviously don't compare to the more expensive models. dubbed as midranged tv's i guess?

off the top of my head, they suffer from poor sound output and poor colours in dark conditions (skintones looking to vibrant, reds looking too dominant).

shall see if i can dig up the links (i'm at work so will have to find them via google again :o)

edit:
i'm still interested in these, and would really like to see some good user reviews - as you can never really trust 3rd party reviews 100%

gfirends looking for a tv the now. Just got a new flat so not much to spend but the 32" one for £400 is execellent value for money. Certianlly notice a diff from the one she has just now. Well done gibbo, keep up these bargians. ;)

That first one looks like identical specs to one I bought at a competitor (i think...do OCUK sell Pick n Mix?) a few months ago for £600. These look like amazing deals.

It's quite scarey how quickly the prices at the budget end of the HDTV are falling. They'll be giving them away soon. :p

Mirai DTL-532W100 32" HD Ready Widescreen LCD TV (AV-000-MR)
I am going to order this from ocuk in the next couple of weeks. I am not sure though if is has hdcp. I cant find it listed on the website.

Stupid question time from me:

I'm new to HDTV, and I assume on these products the Great Gibbo has posted that the normal Sky TV and normal DVD's will work fine on them? They're not going to look stretched or distorted are they?

Also regarding connections, what connection does it have with regards to say a normal Sky box? Scart or other?

Also slight offtopic I think, but if I got an Xbox360...would I need to buy an additional cables?

Great offer and am very tempted.

I've got a Samsung 27" and anything through the SCART (Sky or DVD) look a bit ropey, not distorted but CRT is better.
But PC connected by VGA looks great, I'm using mine as the main monitor now.
BBC-HD via a Skystar2 satellite card looks fantastic.

In my opinion don't bother for Standard Definition, but go for it for PC and xbox360 use.
