Flight case? Plastic container? Bag? I'm interested. Thinking in a flight case with foam to store lenses, flashes and accessories; but they are either cheap and nasty efforts or incredibly expensive ones.

Where are you keeping your gear?? :)

Mine lives in a rucksack or single sling over the shoulder bag thing depending how much gear I'm carrying.

Pelican 1650 with dividers.

Amazon had $100 off all cases over Christmas for 24 hours, I was tempted to get a 1510.

I just spread them at random across several bags, various jacket pockets, two desks, a couple of storage boxes, my bedroom, the car and the office at work.

In reality this tends to be the case.

I do try to keep a camera with big lens near the back door so if I see something in the garden I am ready to jump outside. Did see a hawk last year on our deck but by the time I was outside it was on the back fence.

I need to undo 2 locks, pick a body, pick and lens, put them together lol

This is the photo I managed. Momenets before hand it was a few meters from the back window perched perfectly on my deck. Seconds later it flew off Since then I try to keep a camera ready to go

I have been thinking about this recently as I would like to go with one "home bag" where everything is kept, and then a couple of other bags for when i go out to take what I need.

Does anyone else do this? Good idea? What do you use?

When I say a couple of other bags, I mean, for example a shoulder bag if I'm out shooting street, or a backpack if I'm out shooting landscape.

I keep cameras and lenses in a Maplin own brand Peli case clone. Then my other gear either goes in a storage box, or is just spread out between my various photo bags from where I last used it for something.

Which F-stop bag is this?

Loka UL - which stands for ultra light, Its basically a cut down version

Main differences are single layer ripstop nylon instead of double, no hypalon coating on the bottom of the bag and less straps on the side. First impressions are great though, at first it feels cheap, but then you start to poke around and realise its just incredibly light but still very well made.

I have a Tamrac Apache 4 which is a perfect size for my gear (Olympus E-P5 with the EVF, one extra lens and other misc stuff like lenspen/spare batteries etc), however I've found that I just don't get on with messenger bags anymore. Every time I've taken it out on day trips, even though it's a small mirrorless system and weighs comparatively less than a DSLR, by the end of the day I still find my shoulder/upper trap is really stiff and sore. Also slightly annoying that I used it with a jacket which has a denim-like material, and the dye rubbed off on the back, so it's now got a dark blue discolouring.

I've been thinking of just buying a foam insert so I can take my gear in any bag. Some of those new Millar F-Stop bags look great though.

I like the look of it , I have the PL-3N1-35

Its a great bag, just a couple of issues with it

1) the shoulder straps i cannot tighten enough, I have broad shoulders but they must have taken measurements of Goliath as they are still too loose on me at their tightest setting which is really annoying.

2) when I go backpacking, i generally carry my main rucksack on my back and then put this on my chest, would be nice to have something slightly smaller which is still capable of being a "day pack" for a few items.

Other than that, I cannot fault it, the sling action is great and so handy. little pricey though especially now they have been brought out by manfrotto

Ray where do you get you silica gel from? I'm thinking of getting a peli case to store my stuff in, a smaller version than yours. I take it the peli's are then air tight?
