What do you think?

own insurance are u crazy for a standard fiesta its 2k on his own what would it b on his own with mods 3k?

So? I paid £2100 for a Rover in my first year of driving. :p

I just laughed at all the chavs paying £500 on their parents insurance and not getting any NCB. A year later I was able to afford a much faster and better car than any of my friends have.

Thats besides the point, either you get a nice car and insure it legally or you get a car thats less to insure and do it yourself... legally.

There is no excuse for having it insured under someone elses name.

whats wrong with having it insured under some one else's name? its not exactly illegal. its just that he will loose out on ncb he will just have to make the move at 18. is there any companies that would carry ncb rom bikes because hes had a bike for a year?

If he's the main driver, and the insurance company think that the policy holder is the main driver - then technically you're lying to the insurance company for gain, which is fraud.

It's basically on par with not declaring the mods, and you run the risk of the insurnace company asking questions and working out that he's the main driver and they won't be best pleased :p

I'm personally not prepared to take a risk, but if you/he is then that's fine, as AFAIK the third party will always get paid in these circumstances, but they might not pay out to you, or might even try to prosecute for insurance fraud.

but hes a named driver same thing isnt it? he got a quote rang them up and said how much is it for these mods they just said 300.

Normally in the policy T&C's the policy holder is acknowledged as being the main driver, not the named drivers. In some circumstances if you inform the insurer that your brother (in this case) is the main driver, they'll be fine with it - so long as they keep a record of this.

Looks very nice, im not a fan of chaved cars normally but as a lot of other people have said, its "Subtle"

I would say my FRP is pretty good looking, not sure if i could call it subtle but the diffrence is myn rolled out of the factory and supports its looks with amazing handling ability. The fiesta on the other hand has a cheap fibreglass bodykit and half of halfords bolted to it.

As i said before tho , i do like it :)

Sam

half of halfords? like where? or do you mean the wheels?

Not necessarily cheap fibre glass but ok.

Btw dos yours have the racing engine in it?

What are you turning this into mate ? I didnt meen to cause offence with the chav thing just couldent be bothered to write modified. OK ?

Yes it does :) NO #59

The fiesta really isn't my cup of tea. I think the whole insurance thing is a bit of a poor show too, makes people like me (who get bent over a barrel for insurance) pretty ****** off tbh.

Sam - your car is awesome mate. Will have to blag myself a ride in it sometime to see what a proper handling car can do :p :D

Ofcourse mate , come camping and ill give you a ride there ;) Got quite a que now just got to make sure i dont stack it as well she dosent get driven slowley :p

y dont u think every1 is bent over a barrel with insurance no i dont like it either its just a thing that every 1 has to do, and finding the best way possible in this case its not worth it to go on his own.

Yes same your car is nice, i asked about the engine because i know some one who put a racing puma engine into his fiesta.

yeh its not every ones cup of tea at all but theres not many cars that are.

Half of halfords bolted onto it? The car is smart and subtle, very nice touches which suit the car, almost looks like a factory sports kit (not sure whether it is or not, i'm not a fan of fords in general so this post is quite a compliment!)

In virtually all cases, it is fraud. The named driver is simply an occasional driver - and doing it this way around and hiding it from the insurer is fraudulent.

And lets face it, in the event of an accident, how many loss adjusters are going to believe yes, this modified Fiesta Zetec was infact Mrs Miggens car and it's a pure co-incidence she named her son on it.
