Coursework: My writing is poor and it's much easier to edit.

Music Playing: EMU-0404 w/ winamp sounds better than my audio system in the house, also it's in my room. PS2 doesn't sound very good through a tv for music.

Playing guitar: Behringer VAMP Pro rack thing s/pdif coax out -> EMU Digital in -> 0ms latency monitoring -> speakers = sounding better than my amp, and is easier, with more sounds also and I can record instantly.

Recording music: Above setup because it's got more options than my cheap boss 4track.

Midi stuff, cheaper than a keyboard with the proteus le included with the emu.

Games: This pc can only run COD1, and CS 1.6, but that's fine for me. The other comp can run all the other games.

Internet: Only thing that can run internet properly is a computer

Printing photo copies with the negative scanner adapter my scanner has and hp photosmart.

Pretty useful

can you share resources in real time on starcraft? nope, you have to manually give them.

do you get shared line of site? nope
gravity? nope
vector based graphics engine ? nope
a sequal comming in 2007? nope
ever run out of resources on Total Annihilation? nope.
ever been able to play starcraft with FIVE THOUSAND UNITS PER PERSON? nope/
a thriving mod community even now? nope

is starcraft the best RTS ... nope.

i also use my PC for teamspeak chat to my friends and general office work.

I wanted to use my pc to play a lot of games.. but it hasnt happened.. now i just use it for work and media (dvd/music/radio)

every now and then i get a slight thought of selling up and getting a small form factor.. or laptop.. but i dont know

When i get back home after uni and my pc comes back home i might get a tv card or get sky hooked up to it. Thinking about it, my monitor is bigger than my tv in my room and the study is just as comfertable. And my creative speakers are better than those on the portable tv!

Yay \o/ I get to play this game again.

1v1 is what matters... team games are never competitive enough.
Why are you making a graphics arguement?
StarCraft doesn't need a sequal, I honestly can't see how the would improve the gameplay without disrupting the supurb balance.
Infinite resources is again counter competitive.
You should never ever reach such a large unit count when you are a half decent player.
SC community is immense, TAs is feeble.

I won't bother mentioning what makes SC brilliant again, just go search for my posts elsewhere. I enjoyed TA but the 1v1 multiplayer was always too easy and full of no rush games, which is a shame. TA really needed a serious competitive community and it never got it.

Still... can't wait for supreme commander, hope it fills in the gaping holes TA had.

Starcraft still probably more popular though, especially in Korea and the likes. Those guys are crazy for it.
