What does J. Carragher think of G. Neville then?

Gary Neville is the biggest knocker and poh stick stirrer there is. If he isn't trying to get yellow cards by bad mouthing at refs, he is trying to get players to go on strike and inforce the image that everyone thinks he is a ****.

And if you can't tell.... I hate him!

ok then "are you watching Georgie Best" , please explain where that is offensive , derogatory or abusive to George Best or his memory

You're kidding? He's just died, and the very next time you play us, you're jibing at it. How do you expect it to be taken any other way? You sing Munich songs, still to this day. What's that then, a way of letting us know how poor aircraft was compared to nowadays?

Who is jibing at his death , I gave my interpretation of what the song referred to ( that he would be turning in his grave to see the current side ) , you said this was hogwash so please give your interpretation

re Munich songs , I have been to many Man U - Liverpool fixtures and have never heard a Munich song once , I have heard shouts from isolated idiots but nothing more coordinated , the same as I have seen Hillsborough shouts from a small minority of Man U fans but again nothing that would be classed as a song or a coordinated effort

No. If you look at my post again, I quoted you saying that singing GB songs was in no way derogatory to his memory. I called that hogwash. An irrevelant point here is what he has to be turning in his grave about? We're out of europe, but still in both cup competitions, and second in the league to one of the greatest teams ever assembled. We've also just beat Liverpool, I can see him smiling right now.

EDIT - and the chanting, yes both examples are downright disrespectful. At least we don't have it as bad as Italy.

And the fact that he's just died makes it a derogatory and disrespectful. Are you watching Roy Keane would have made more of a point.

That's why I asked you in what way was this derogatory or having a jibe at him

Yep you beat us fair and square and you will not find huge amounts of Liverpool fans bleating about it

every team has its set of hardcore fans that chant offensive jibes during a match. Unfortunately its part of football and Liverpool and Utd have had two of the biggest tragedies in football in the last century. Rival fans will use it as bait. I agree with Rottys interpretation of the George Best chant although to some it may be considered poor taste considering that he only passed away recently.

Alan Smith even admitted during his Leeds days to singing the Munich song. He had just signed for us as well. A few months down the line, no one gives a hoot because at the end of the day it shouldn't be taken personally. It's to provoke a reaction. As much as I don't like Gary Neville (personally) I can see why he did what he did when Rio scored. I wouldn't begrudge Carragher or Gerrard a similar reaction if the game was at Anfield and Utd outplayed them for most of the game with the Utd fans hurling abuse towards them.

Just to point out its not the 'pool fans that are making a thing of this,it's the Greater Manchester Police force.Liverpool have made no official complaint and Carra only said something when pushed about it.
Also quite ironic all the anti-scouser songs from the Mancs when the only thing keeping them from mid table mediocrity is a scouser :)

I think its getting a bit ridiculous when players are being pulled up for 'incidents like this. What next no celebrating goals incase you offend the opposition's fans?? If the fans cant take it then they shouldnt dish it out.

One of the most popular is sung to the tune of Ally's Army: 'Who's that dying on the runway? Who's that dying in the snow? It's Matt Busby and his boys, Making all the ****** noise, 'Cause they can't get the aeroplane to go.'

Listen and you will hear.

I concur, it was always the lower level teams like Leeds or Millwall that did it. Sets of fans that went out to upset people.

He definitely crossed the line.

I speak from being a fan of a club with one of the worst soccer violence records in British history and if Neville had done that in front of Stokes Boothen End they would have hung him from the crossbar. It was only last month one of our idiots ran on and tried to wrestle a goalkeeper to the ground.

It shouldn't happen but the slightest incident can set the idiots off.
Only on Saturday our fans were fighting with each other in the Boothen End and it needed about 50 cops and a hundred security to sort out.
