Hi I have a samsung sp2514n(250gb) drive which I am having problems with in my Sky+ pace box. The drive doesnt get up operating speed quick enough for the sky box to see it when it posts, so wont recognise it when it is up to speed. Im just wondering what would happen if i set the samsung drive to the same LBA as the 40gb maxtor that came out of the unit(but keep the size set as is)? Im also going to set the drive to ata133(same as the maxtor) rather than ata100 which it comes set at.
Do you guys have any other suggestions as to how to get this harddrive to start up any quicker? Failing this I may have to buy a new drive for it.
