What film shall we remake next...?

I dont want it to, but according to darkhorizons, ROBOCOP is being remade next year

Every now and again theres an influx of certain jaundre of films come out, weve had WW2, 1970's stuff, Superheroes, I reckon with Kong coming out we'll see stuff like One Million Years BC, Warlords Of Atlantis, Godzilla, Land That Time Forgot etc,etc over next 18 months or so

I thought the original ring was boring, slow and not in the least bit spooky or scary. Our lass didn't find it scary either, and she jumps at anything.
Thats only because you couldn't understand what they were saying :p. It was an excellent film, far better than the Holywood remake.

As for King Kong, the original was a classic, but Peter Jackson made a good job of Lord of The Rings, and hopefully did the same with King Kong.

As for the next remake, it should be James Bond in Casino Royale, as the original with people like David Nixen and Woodey Allen was pointlessly stupid and didn't follow the storeyline. Oh wait, they are remaking it :D

Please remake LOTR !

Yeah, the first one was pants

Original ring series for me.

US version was twoddle.

And the amount of minutes spent looking at a still picture for the stupid americans to go..."ooooh that was in the video" :GRRR:

How strange that i've clicked on this thread. I've just finished (handed in 45 mins ago) a full film analysis of the wicker man. I've watched it 18 times in the last 2 days (directors cut and short). I really do think tht it's a good film. Hell of a lot uf stuff in there to get your analytical movie faces into.

As for the remake, if it ever happens, it will be a travesty.
I love the cager, but in the wicker man?, no!.

OK, what about Superman? Oh damn...

To be fair the new Superman film isn't a remake. Its much like Batman Begins, another story focussing on a different part of the characters life. In this case Superman has been away to where Krypton is or something, and now returns to Earth.

Oh dear... just read in the newspaper that they want to do a remake of...

The Dam Busters.

HOW CAN THEY?!?! That's just totally wrong. In fact it goes so far past wrong.. That film is a classic in its own right, one of the best war films ever made. They could only ruin it.

It'll probably be something stupid like George Clooney as the commanding officer, Ben Affleck, Will Farrell, Luke and Owen Wilson as the american pilots that just happened to be on loan to the RAF for the duration of such a mission

I wish they would do a remake of that excellent (but little known) film -

'Stupid American film producers get brutally killed with large pieces of wood'.

Well it was bad enough they re-made The Producers, what was the point? Why don't they just remake Spaceballs or Blazing Saddles for the 00's. It doesn't need to be done, just re-release a re-mastered version or something.

No way, the original was terrible at building up tension and was not scary. The remake was 100% but was still a better effort than the original. I don't want to sit watching someone pull water out of a well for 15 minutes.

Have to disagree with you Gilly, twas a good film, well made, well researched, well shot. Technically at least it is a very good film i suppose. Of course reactions to it are entirely personal, so whether you like it or not is up to you :). I like it though. I had a choice of 5 films to analyse (can't remember most of them, Momento, Jean de Florette, Magnolia etc), and i had no problem watching the wicker man on loop for 2 days. Also, have you seen the directors cut?, a different film really, much better. Less jerky.

Just seen an Ad on TV for the remake of the producers...

WTF!!!

The original is a cinematic classic - Acting was superb, music was great, plot was a Mel Brooks film ;)

It's still a comedy classic.

At least they appear to have used some of the musical's cast - but Broderick still looks 18 and I still see him as Ferris Bueller.

One for me to avoid I think. Good job I've got the original on DVD...

No ******* way. Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid is a classic. Robert Redford and Paul Newman were excellent choices for the roles, and Affleck and Damon aren't going to beat them. (Although Imo Steve McQueen would have also been a good choice for Sundance).

I first saw the original Ring in the cinema and the atmosphere was actually quite tense, I went and bought all 3 of them on DVD after seeing it and it did feel entirely different watching it at home (for the negative!). If you did like it thought, I recommend the prequel and sequel....a lot scarier in my opinion!

King Kong turned out pretty well!
