what fps does a 8800 get at cod 4

Wouldnt this be conciderd glitching? Isnt glitching extremly fround upon? i know a lot of servers are banning it now or atleast trying to so even if this was true it falls in the class of hacks, CS:S Rate hacks spring to mind... people were lame for doing that and there lame for doing this if its got the slightest bit of truth though im still to see any for COD4!

Go on say i used to hack rates :D

EDIT*****

My intelli mouse 4.0 owns all my frriends with razors, sad truth is if ya cack a mouse isnt going to make it any better, tell ya what when you break 333fps come on the overclockers server and we will test its usefullness for you.

And there was me thinking COD4 was capped at 100fps anyway, guess it was wrong but that's what I remember from FRAPS.

Wow... all this to play on public servers. I play with the best visuals I can get away with and enjoy... otherwise I may as well just play doom.

Matthew

That's why I got an 8800GT. Especially a game like COD4, it looks lovely. Lots of my enjoyment would be lost if I played at 800x600 minimum details.
Each to their own and if you really think it makes a difference then do it. But for me, I would never do this to a game. Source DG should check

In answer to the original topic I play 1600x1200 Max everything no AA, 8xAF and get 60-100fps which is pointless going higher since I'm on a flat screen

I met one of these types of people at a lan once. Quake 3 was being played and he'd edit his console like no mans business! He'd have every setting turned off, dynamic lighting, wierd colours enabled and in my opinion, the game just looked awful. Not only that, but if someone was camping somewhere dark, it wouldn't matter on his PC.

Blatant cheating if you ask me.

Play the game the way it's meant to be played in my opinion.

I don't see the problem, it's the same as any sport when played seriously. You do everything possible to maximise performance, as long as it's within the rules.

I know plenty of great gamers in CoD4 that don't need to do this though . Also I don't agree with missing footsteps or the sights being steadier with movement at this higher FPS. So I DO see the problem.

1920 x 1200
4AA 16 AF
Max

With my comp in my spec I get on average 80fps, and it ca sometimes jump between 40fps and as much as 120fps - it depends on a lot of factors really and the map too.

Although playing at 80 and then suddenly going to 40 is quite annoying, but tbh you get used to it, and although I prefer 60+ fps, 40 is quite adequate for a single card solution.

I play at the same settings except for full AF. I use AA for single player though, I just prefer the speed for online play as it's more important. Also I'm on a Viewsonic 21" CRT (Max res = 2048x1536 @ 79hrtz)

now that monitor would be conciderd perfect gaming material!

The pic above is going to far but stable 125 fps for me is no more that turning AA off and some of the settings in the menu compared to how I have it most of the time.

with a stock 8800gts 512 @ 1920x1200 no aa/af, benched using fraps

2008-02-27 22:25:12 - iw3sp
Frames: 23160 - Time: 268670ms - Avg: 86.202 - Min: 46 - Max: 140

could be a lot better i expect if the card was clocked a bit.

Pretty much all the quake 3 players did that, even in the days of cards being able to play that game maxed at hundreds of fps people still go in and turn everything down. Apparently textures that look like a stepped in and slipped on turd make for a better gameplay experience.

not i dont put fancy cvars in turning everything off i just turn details to low textures low all in options.im no hack.which i think some may think.as said before its only when i go on the really hard server which 90 percent dont even go on or have access to.i take few of my mates on now and again who think there good or decent and they just say wow wow wow. 90 percent would just scream hackers or cheats.say youve got carbine aks they just get a sniper and own you but not camping there running constantly.

had all intelimice and i thought they were garbage.some do like them though each to his own.also used the logitechs 510s, 518s, and razers is the one mouse that i prefer and so do most of my mates who play.

sounds like you and your mates a sad bunch, or are you the only one who takes the game that seriously? Its a game, its meant to be fun, it sounds like you need a better outlet for energy tbh if you are taking a game that seriously competitively.

It's pretty sharp although it might not have been if I had it producing a pink screen like when I first got it :o. I hadn't put the VGA cable in correctly on the monitor end and forgot about it when setting it up as I'm used to CRT's just having the wire coming from inside the monitor. I smacked the living daylights out of the screen till whatever I was smoking gave way a little and with my index and my thumb pushed the VGA into the monitor and hey presto!. I felt like a right divvy as I sat there for about half an hour in a raging mood lol. Poor monitor :( :p. Other than that it's absolutely perfect for everything, especially FPS games (although it's HHUUUGGGEE, heavy & ugly). I had a 22" WS LCD with 6ms response and it was hideous for FPS gaming. I bought it for £220 from here and sold it to a m8 for £30 as I hated it that much.

CRT's can't be beaten for FPS. I have seen a few FPS games run on a 2ms laptop and wow it impressed me a lot more than what my 6ms did so hopefully when OLED becomes mainstream then we could have nearly 0ms but a flat screen :D.

why cause i like to play against the best there is how is that sad?is just the same in sport.you use everything you can within the rules to perform the best thats possible.if in a sprint race would you use a pair of slippers when you know you can use trainers.

right im going to BABBLE on about my RAZER if thats ok lol, its the best mouse i have ever owned tbh with pinpoint accuracy and lightning speed...right thats that over with, next subject is ive known Dg for a lot of years and can be very stubborn at times lol, all i will say is if he wants to play at these rez,s then fine (it isent cheating, and he will never cheat or ever has) All he wanted to know was what fps can you get with 800x600 rez with a gt thats all, and what do i see in reply to his question, well some of the answers such as cheating, glitching and some replies are quite belittling tbh, not what i would expect from the guys who are experienced in these areas, and as for the replies from jd and peetee well i am shocked, how on earth do you two get away with talking to peeps like that i dont know:mad: anyway rant over and happy forums for the win i say and have fun gaming DONT MATTER AT WHAT RESOLUTION!!

I would like to go on a server with these so called "Pro's" just to see what it's like...

Me with my 8800GT (700/1750/2000), Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz and a constant 90-130 fps (Maximum settings and 1280x1024)

I turned everything to minimum on my system and tried out COD4, I didn't notice a difference but it sure looked crap. Got 350-400 FPS

sorry not putting ips on if you dont know em then thats why you dont know em.some i see on here do go on there and i could tell you who but thats not my buisness.basically the people who go on there are from clans like digintas,tek9, and so on.the best in the buisness at cod.

Type this into console: /com_maxfps 500

Then press enter. Your card will never exceed 500FPS if you play the game with good graphic settings so that will release any of the potential of the card that is getting held back. Please don't go down the route of having your game at 800x600 with low graphic settings as it's a waste of time :).

cheers m8 i got 150 average but 300+when i look into the sky lol
