Hi all,

Im new to PC gaming and have a current budget of £600 for just the PC alone. I have the monitor mouse keyboard etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i dont want to jump in and buy the wrong one.

Thanks
Blair

You could save ~£10 on the PSU and get a 550W - but the extra 100W may come in handy when you upgrade. You may also want to add a conventional 1TB HDD for ~£35 later on for additional storage.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £608.19 (includes shipping: £12.30)

It's the best card within your budget and brief. Plus, it's important to have a strong core platform to build on - i.e. quality motherboard, strong CPU so you can update just your GPU when you need to.

For 1080p gaming the 570 is the best card in its class for the money at £120.

An example of 570 paired with 2600:

How much extra would a Gtx or whatever be? I could push out a bit? Thanks again.

A lot.

I would suggest a V56 as similar/better performance

But if you were set on Nvidia:

Yea i see what you mean, its a big difference.

Its my first PC so the first one you sent would probably be best. I would be looking to play PUBG, Csgo etc.Do i need to order extra fans or cables? also i would like to add a hard drive probs 1TB and 120gb SSD?

Thanks

also, you can get the ryzen 2600 for £130 + free shipping.
as it's a budget build, could get away with the corsair CX 550M, which is £57 + free shipping (google CP-9020102-UK).
so that's an extra £40ish saved.

bringing plec's original build well under budget. :)

Dont waste your time with big non-ssd hard drives unless you really need the space.

Get a 2600 and a 570, or if budget allows a 2600 and a vega 56 along with the 500gb SSd.
Nowt else will come close to VFM.
Im just looking for a couple games and then windows 10, nothing major. Whats best for that?

Also with the first parts list posted do i need to order more fans or cables? im a noob sorry

I would wait for a new AM4 motherboards, and spend majority of my budget on a new AM4 that could withstand 12-16 core CPU board with some cheap CPU to begin with. Then few month later would buy some decent GPU and finally upgrade the CPU down the line.

If you spend all 600 on full system you will get a potato. Without upgrade possibilities and bunch of parts that that are mediocre at best.

A 2600 and 570/v56 is not a potato.
Ok the new stuff is going to be better but VFM wise its not coming back down to this level for a while yet.

And this is the full build with added cheap and cheerful fan bundle and an added 1TB conventional drive (keep the 500GB SSD). And source a Windows 10 code for ~£10 - job done.

Remove the 1tb hard drive, you really wont need it imho - you can always add one down the line but 500gb is more than enough to start with.
You can then use that money towards a proper version of windows 10 which you do not have, yes i know you can pick up 10 quid keys from ebay but.. they might not be reliable.

i disagree. there's better ways to spend the money (including a pint or two down a the pub)

grey keys make the most financial sense.
£100 for a white key vs ~£5 for a grey key.
say each grey key lasts for at least 2 years...or at worst, 1 year.
your breakeven point is 20 years at minimum, (or typically >40 years! lol)

fwiw, i bought my grey key in 2012. it was never deactivated and also allowed the upgrade to win 10 in 2017...
(although i'm using a legit key now, as i conveniently lost the key during a mobo swap, and microsoft issued a new key to me...lol)

@tamzzy explains the fiscal risk well - or lack of. I have the kids machines running with cheap keys, still going strong after a few years. I bought Office Pro for peanuts for my Nephew before he went to Costa Rica a couple of years ago (monkey research) - again no issues to date.

I do however use legit keys for my work machines - but for gaming who cares?..

Could you recommend a different case? As everything else has fast delivery via overclockers, amazon however the only thing is the case taking a while? Also if not too much hassle fans that fit with LED’s? Thanks again been so helpful
If you really want RGB and to keep the board in proportion you could consider the below. The motherboard is $10 more still quality VRM (important) and the case has unicorn lights and 4 fans so you could drop the additional fans from previous specs. But this is full a full ATX motherboard so case is larger.
