What gaming PC would you buy with £600?

@tamzzy explains the fiscal risk well - or lack of. I have the kids machines running with cheap keys, still going strong after a few years. I bought Office Pro for peanuts for my Nephew before he went to Costa Rica a couple of years ago (monkey research) - again no issues to date.

I do however use legit keys for my work machines - but for gaming who cares?..

If you really want RGB and to keep the board in proportion you could consider the below. The motherboard is $10 more still quality VRM (important) and the case has unicorn lights and 4 fans so you could drop the additional fans from previous specs. But this is full a full ATX motherboard so case is larger.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

MSI B450 TOMAHAWK Socket AM4 ATX Motherboard for AMD Ryzen Processors

could you confirm this is correct as out of stock on overclock?

Yes, that's the board - now remove the link otherwise the mods on the forum will whip you with an HDMI cable as it's against forum rules to link to other suppliers (you weren't to know - so don't worry).

You guys have been great.

Thanks for all the help.

Hopefully I can post an update of how i get on... or questions on how to build it lol

Link removed. Thanks :)

what is your final build spec?

edit: i usually ask as some people decide to go all #random and buy other parts lol

Got my, Yoda edit, you did.
:D

off topic but...i really can't decide...buy ryzen 3000 on launch or wait?
cities skylines is really slowing down with 400 mods, >350k population and needing ~20gb ram :(
...but the chinese in me says to wait for better pricing than launch day etailer gouge...lol

you can get the ryzen 2600 for £130 + free shipping.
as it's a budget build, could get away with the corsair CX 550M, which is £57 + free shipping (google CP-9020102-UK).
so that's an extra £40ish saved.
both items are from the same place you are buying the motherboard from :)

I have got stuff from other sites cheaper but just posted the original links yous gave, got ryzen for £130 and rx 570 for £120. Happy with these prices?
Yep, all there - below listed in pics so you know what you're buying - from where ever you but it:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £669.00 (includes shipping: £13.20)

/off topic - OP sorted and @tamzzy has stitched me up before i could do the same to him :D

**Sorry, bud - one of the kiddies woke up.

@tamzzy - i know what you mean.

Part of it's the gouging - CPU and and the boards. The other part is the excitement has warn off a bit - that coupled with i have no real need to upgrade - but i want a Zen 2, just to play with.

The CPU forum is a mess of contradiction and a mind **** to read which hasn't helped keeping me enthused. Plus, more realistically, i may not even be here on release so will miss the 'all-in-it-together' thread - which is usually a pretty enjoyable/chilled thread (although, i'm sure CP30 could find a way of ****ing people off.).

As for your situation it's not so cut and dried - 400 mods and 350K pop!!! Have you not heard of thinning the heard? Add the disasters DLC - and walk away from your screen for 20 minutes that will save you some much needed system memory...

If funds are a tight i would always suggest waiting (2020 prices will be considerably lower) - but when you consider how often you upgrade your core components (sensible) I would argue that you will get value for money whenever you buy - even on release. N.B. I'm not including your planned NVMe drives in that last bit :p

Personally, I would heavily weigh up the enjoyment factor rather than the fiscal.

For example: not a lot floats my boat commercially, now, so things that really interest me are worth the endorphin hit, even if the price cannot be fully justified at time of buying. The way i look at it - if the present price doesn't taint the enjoyment factor of owning it at that moment - it's worth it. If it sticks in the throat i wait...

Reality is, even though i can afford it i still like getting bang for buck - you sound the same.

We're getting old and sensible tamzzy - well i am, you're just getting old :D
