Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

What gpu do you have with your 5800x3d?

3080 FE. Defo bottlenecks at 1440p, at least it did in Hell Let Loose the other day

Are you using the -dx12 launch option? It should make a healthy difference, the CPU gets hammered with physics calcs otherwise.

HLL has infamously poor optimisation and low GPU usage, it's extremely CPU intensive.

Probably not! Launch option? So this isn't just in quality settings in game

These should be the steps assuming you have it on Steam:

DirectX 12 in Hell Let Loose:
  1. Open Steam and locate Hell Let Loose in your library.
  2. Right-click on Hell Let Loose and select "Properties."
  3. In the "General" tab, find the "Launch Options" section.
  4. Enter the following code into the launch options, making sure to include all spaces and dashes:
-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -DX12 -refresh [your monitor's refresh rate]
Replace [your monitor's refresh rate] with the actual refresh rate of your monitor.
  5. Press Enter and close the properties box.
  6. Launch the game and experience the optimized performance.

Not sure if the refresh part is necessary, there's a chance of it introducing some stutter but results vary from user to user, it's worth a shot.

I'm surprised, honestly. I used to play a fair bit of HLL and on both my 6900 XT and 7900 XTX paired with a 12700K the game runs mostly pretty well with the exception of a few maps. I think the worst offender was Carentan and that new one I can't remember the name of - only played it a handful of times but performance was awful. Are you getting performance issues on every map?

Have a RTX 3090 paired with my 5800X3D at the moment, but its not always rosey trying to drive a 4k 240hz OLED so might be looking for some upgrades soon.

Until recently I was using a 5800X3D and a 4090. Upgraded to a 9950X3D and didn't really notice much if any difference. I do play at 4K though which would limit any CPU bottlenecks.

3060ti here I need to upgrade but not sure if to wait some more...
I did just that, going from a 3060Ti 8GB to a 5060Ti 16Gb. got a 15 - 30% fps boost on most games, BUT the 1%lows improved significantly most likely from the VRAM increase. The extra performance was expensive, £400. The new GPU however should match the longevity of my 3060Ti (4 1/2 years) so less than a hundred quid a year ;)

Nice. Do you plan on upgrading your CPU in the near future. I'm tempted by a 5090 with my 5800X3D.

Possibly - but from testing over the last 24 hours, in no real rush - opened a title, set pre-set to Ultra @ 4k, and everything super smooth. AIO and upping RAM to 128GB is more of a priority - trying to automate as much of my work as possible with local AI.

I don't play particularly competitive online - 4k60 is fine, although the Samsung 55" QLED will do 4k120 happily.
