And if Von was Chasing me with his work mates I'd do it an all. Get fit lad & good luck.![]()

Just out of curiosity what is your swimming like? That can be a bit of a hurdle if its not at an acceptable level. If you went and did the acquaint course you should have a good idea what you have to do.
I really struggled with that but i started swimming afterwards so i didnt have a problem with it at raleigh. If you didnt do the RNAC and you're not a competent swimmer just stick to breast stroke and you cant really go wrong, trying to do the front crawl with overalls that are too big for you can be counter productive![]()
(absolutely ******** it by the way!!!!
)I don't understand =\Hahahaha!! (is that thread going to haunt me forever???)
And christ guys - im saying I have no confidence with fitness, not saying I cant do it...![]()

Treadmills = Waste of time. They propel your legs backwards, so you're only putting in a small amount of effort compared to road running.
Plus you can't really tell your speed, because it feels completely different outside.
Hi mate, my swimming isnt too bad really, so shouldnt struggle with that I wouldnt have thought.
Would you be able to tell me if anyone did fail anything and did they just have to retake it at a later date or something?
And if I read right , you do your running fitness test in week 5, so the training you have had prior to that should make you ok for the test I would assume. I thought for some reason you had to do it on day 2..... ??
Cheers mate, appreciate it(absolutely ******** it by the way!!!!
)
) that it takes place. You do do the mile and a half in the first week but its not the same as the one you do later on. I think you just have to get the same times you needed for the fitness test you took on the treadmill. I cant remember very well as it was almost a year ago and i wasnt too bothered with the fitness side of things throughout Raleigh. Either way its not an excuse to slack off, you still have a few weeks before you start so its worth putting a bit of effort in to make it easier for yourselfHow many press ups or sit ups do you have to do? That would be the bit that would knacker me![]()
I can run 1.5mile on the flat in 11mins, and I'm both lazy and have a (current) lack of exercise and I'm very overweight.The fact is though that unless you have a medical condition not being able to run 1.5 miles in 11 minutes is just down to laziness and lack of exercise
Not a lot, 23 pressups and 39 situps. I thought you had to do the harder marine style ones before you joined but its just regular pressups. Girls get to do them on their knees.
I am 34 and would comfortably run 1.5 miles in that time.
You should not fail that and it is not an unreasonable standard of fitness to ask.
