If you aren't enjoying it, sell your pc and buy what you said.
I'm sure plenty of people are still loving their large selection of PC games.

Flash-forward a month and a half with me....

*OP receives package in the post from OCUK

*Rubbing hands gleefully, OP unwraps to reveal a copy of Battlefield 3 for PC

Flash forward 72 hours....
*OP is furiously typing a rebuttal to this post, tears streaming down his cheeks at his naivete.

They are all getting the same

Where if we go back 10-15 years to the supposed 'golden age' every other game was it's own genre busting epic the likes nobody had ever seen before? Oh wait it was just another 2d platformer, oh look another point & click game!

Atm I think the worst thing to happen to PC gaming is probably you.

I thought about packing up pc gaming,Selling my gaming system and buying a new new TV...and getting a PS3....no hastle and i can still et my gaming fix.?
Keep your pc mate, just take a break from it. Yeah buy the TV and a Gaming console, when you're fed up with that you will enjoy going back to PC gaming for many different reasons. PC games of old were not without their major problems as far as i can remember. Technology has changed for the better, game engines have improved a lot and the hardware is faster and cheaper today.

Games are not any more buggy than they were 6 years ago in my opinion. PC gaming was already dead 6 years ago, dontcha know :)

As for games not living up to the hype lets go back 6 years, what was around in 2005.... FEAR, didn't live up to the hype, Brothers in Arms with it's supposedly revolutionary battlefield control, don't make me laugh.

Games getting the same - again, that was already happening 6 years ago, although increased publicity and the explosion of digitial distribution has helped more original indie titles a bit since then.

As for DRM never really understood the fuss about this, I've got retail DVD editions these supposedly HIDEOUS games that were absolutely slaughtered for DRM on the web/forums, like GTA4, Bioshock, Mass Effect etc. I've had a grand total of zero problems from all of them.

I'm having more fun PC gaming than I have in years, I was purely a PC gamer from around 2002 to 2007 when I got my first 360, I started playing most of my games on 360 then, I bought a PS3, but it was/still is crap, so stuck to the 360 for a while with the odd PC game, It's only in the past few months that I have really started getting back into pc gaming,

TF2 and steam are what got me back interested, I had TF2 on my steam account and a friend of mine asked me to recommend a pc game, I said the orange box so he got it, we played around 200 hours in a few months and I started to get hooked back into PC gaming, I now have 160 games on my steam account including pre-orders for skyrim and MW3, I just prefer playing on my pc again

Ive been a PC Gamer for god knows how many years, my first 'PC' after an Atari ST was a 486, then a Pentium. I think the first full game I ever bought was Doom 2 when it was released and many others since then. Than there was the dawn of 3D acceleration and 3DFX was king before its unfortunate decline to the newer breeds of cards and the eventual card kings of today - Nvidia and ATI/AMD.

It was only last week I was reminiscing the good old days of pc games and trying to track down some of the oldies, such as Rise of the Triad, Quake 2, Descent, Nocturne, Dark Forces etc.

So Ive seen pc gaming change so much in that time, as Im sure many others on here have also and when I think about it, its quite astonishing how much games and game visuals have improved. I do keep up with current releases, Dead Island for example, I got that on release day and really enjoy it. But Im also so glad the gaming community keep all the old games alive on current gen systems and operating systems with mods and tweaks so all the golden oldy games,eg carmageddon 1 can still be played.

Yes, PC gaming has changed, a lot, but just embrace the change. Honestly, the games we have now are so much better and immersive than the games of the 1990's.

Nothing has really happened to it. I don't get what all the fuss is about.

There are great games for both PC and Console, get both - stop moaning.

Nothing has happened? I play more PC games than ever.

Sure, we might get slightly less exclusive AAA titles, but the quality of console ports on the whole has increased in the last few years in my opinion.

One thing thats got to me about games lately... level design has become very polished but quite mundane, a lot less stand out levels, a lack of an identity to the level, turn a corner and its the same copy and paste area from 2 corridors back with maybe some slight changes, way too many generic warehouse, generic lab/office, etc.
