What have I broken? Sideways into kerb at 30mph...

No, he's saying that they would lose grip at a higher speed than the cheap ones, as he probably won't be able to judge grip any better with them.

Only if he'd drive quicker than he does now if he had better tyres.

Which isn't the case, he drives as fast as he can until... yea.

Slid into a kerb at 10mph and bent the lower arm, it wasnt very noticeable by eye and not until it was off compared with a new one was it noticeable. quite shocking as its quite a chunky bit of metal
30mph would easily bend a lot more components if not writing off the car!

What happened? Do tell!

You've got to either drive like a complete **** or be running Ditchfinder Specials on each corner, surely.

A large dose of both methinks......

The tyres on the front were Champiro somthing or others, they seemed good enough until they let go of the road...

LOL, Champiros are ****ing awful, my RX7 had some on the front when I first bought it, going from them to Toyo T1Rs was night and day.

Wishbone, Trackrods(& ends), subframe etc etc.

My brother slid into the kerb in his Renault 5 when there was heavy snow & ice on the road, wheel pointed in towards the car afterwards.

He had to replace the subframe to get it to sit right again.

could have bent the subframe, though chances are the full corner will need changed. If there are no signs of what part is damaged it could have easily caused small problems on all of them. I hit a kerb in my ctr resulting in the same thing - wheel in at the bottom, out at top. Insurance changed the shock, spring, wishbone, wheel hub, and track rod end. Fortunatly the sub frame was fine.

Sounds about right. Better safe than sorry with suspension anyway.
Also, check the steering out too.

A friend of mine did something very similar, and a lower speed in his mk2 200, shock bent, wishbone bent, subframe absolutely mullered, and to add insult to injury, the curb took the sump with it, too.

I bent the wheel under my car in my epic "i can get a FWD car sideways" episode. How dull i was.. bent the chassis, subframe, wishbones, rear subframe. Meh.. :(

Are you still driving it around? If so, you'll do yourself a favour and wear the Champiro's down within a few hundred miles :)
