Im just Curious to know how many of you have made some big or great or are proud of Achievements in your life?

I was thinking the other day that i haven't really achieved all that much apart from managing to live a relative relaxed life style while every one else seems to stress about every thing but thats not really a big Achievement IMO :p

The only ones i can think of that are semi Achievements are coming 3rd in a state sprinting championship and pushing low 11 seconds at a youngish age. Thats about it really, I haven't saved any ones life, i haven't got a job i really enjoy, i haven't done anything on a national or international level. :(

I have a great Girlfriend and helped a person through depression but i haven't done much else then what i have said in this thread and im starting to think maybe i should go out and achieve something that i can be remembered for doing or something even if it is just in my own community or something

So what have you achieved in your life?

BTW having a 1337 character on WOW doesn't count as a great Achievement so you cant put that down :p

My God man, you're only born in 1988!

I'm a 1983 baby - I've done some cool things and helped some people and hit a few personal goals, but really, I think my big achievements are yet to come.

I would like a life of leisure but - such a life is surely a little, well, flat. You need the low and highs, challenges and failures, etc. - otherwise you'll just get bored. And boring.

"Tell me a story about the old days, Grandma!"
"Um, well, er..."

It depends what measure you use, really :) I have achieved a lot of personal growth but as far as material wealth goes, not a huge amount. A few grand in the bank... though you can't take it with you.

Built a primary school extension, LOADS and LOADS of houses, a few apartment blocks, some extensions. Those will last semi-forever, at least until someone knock it down. (I did that between the age of 21-24)

Speak a few languages, not really hard, just grew up that way due to the environment.

1 degree, 2 post grad degrees.

funny you mentioned athletics, as thats the first thing i thought of. I use to do 100m, and got into the high tens when i was in my early teens. Also became champion of my borough.

Other than this, i've:

provided many women with the greatest experience they'll ever have (they'll never forget me) ;)

won a few trophies in football, got a degree, hussled to get the job i have now, hmmm, intresting topic, can't think of anything else :(

Very thought provoking topic...

A beautiful wife (most proud of that), a chemistry degree, masters, career in software testing (don't laugh), professional qualifications in software testing (okay, you can start laughing now), lots of really good friends I've kept for 10 years, passports stamps, own home in London, other pointless material stuff (nice to have though).

The natural extension to the OP is, What would you like to achieve?

Me, own my own business and make it a success, and to have children.

I overcame a huge hurdle to get my Class 1 medical. 3 years after that I am now a fully qualified commercial pilot.

All I need to do now is to is find myself a job!

Other things that I'm proud of:

Gold DofE
President of my uni gliding club
Living all round the world

Well im only 20 so the list is short!

Playing County level golf
Getting into uni
...........my list has dried up already, umm never making my family ashamed of me ;d

A house, a car, a degree, a bird, a great relationship with the family (folks and brother), oh and crapping on the bathroom floor when stupidly drunk! :o :D

At least you managed the right room, points for effort :D

Lovely girlfriend (soon to be wife), and my 4 year old daughter. My daughter is a cheeky wee madam though :)

Ive also joined a charity that helps people thinking about suicide. Where I live there is a high suicide rate, a lot of which happen at the 2 bridges in the city. Me and a team work from 9:30pm to 3am patrolling the bridges and the riverside, to date I have been involved with 3 different suicide attempts and im proud to say we stopped all 3.

The latest was a 17 year old kid who had just been dumped by his GF, we actually had to drag him back over the railings of the bridge, its amazing what drink can do to some people.

My 3 kids firstly. The things they come out with are hysterical!

I'm proud of the fact that although their father and I have separated we're still great friends. It took a lot of hard work but it was well worth it.

In the last 6 years I've gained a few qualifications, aerobics instructor, gym instructor, pilates teacher and just passed as a Personal Trainer. The feeling of being able to build people's confidence while doing a job I love is amazing.

Finally there's Paul. I'm so glad that we managed to survive the last year which was incredibly tough due to his ex causing all sorts of trouble. It made us pull together though and now we're incredibly close. Never thought I'd have anything to thank that woman for but if she hadn't been hellbent on causing us problems we wouldn't have ended up so solid!
