What have you done to your car today?

Cleaned the VX and took her out for the first drive of the year. Put the child seat in and my 3 year old came out for her first drive down to Ogmore which she absolutely loved. She's already told me I can sit in the passenger seat when she's old enough to have the car :)

Why do you need twenty hands to rebuild drum brakes! Front discs and pads took me an hour as I am quite OCD and clean everything. Rear discs also only took me 1 hour but wasted all afternoon doing the rear drums. Also got in trouble because I forgot Tesco closes early so didn't get any bread either!

The second and final stage of my roof motor issue is now done. The whole saga is put to bed and I've learned a new thing about how this all works. It's actually really simple to diagnose and fix permanently. You just need to buy the 2 parts (custom fabbed housing cover & motor unit) from the USA.

Sorted!

Oh I couldn't hear you over the sound of my face enjoying the beaming sun because the roof is down :p

Scope creep set in a little.

I have an OLED gauge mounted in the stock dash cluster that displays live data read from the aftermarket ECU via CANBUS which I've been improving. Got to the stage now where it reports a VIN Number and Calibration through standard OBD readers as well as reporting diagnostic trouble codes and outputting live parameters on OBD too

A campfire? :p

Questionable £1.80 turbotastic modification coming to my Volvo tomorrow courtesy of Halfords. :D

Poogeot shed's front wheels are corroded onto the hub. Any ideas for removal? So I have spent two hours trying the following to no avail:

Penetrant to the back of steelies and hub (via lug holes).
Jolly good kicking to front and rear.
Rubber mallet to tyre at 3 and 9 from front and rear.
Rubber mallet to back of steelie at 3 and 9.
Rotating tyre as I hit it with rubber mallet from rear.
Hitting the lip between hub and steelie.
Dropping it from the jack with lug loosened (multiple times).
Bravely drove it up and down the street with lug nuts loosened.

I know the last two are a bit silly but I really need to get the damn wheels off as front brake pads are almost shot.
