What have you done to your car today?

For me "commuter car" and "daily car" are synonymous, and if you only have one car and you use it for commuting, its your commuter car, and therefore your daily car.

I refer to whatever ****box I drive at a given time as the "daily" because I also have the BMW, but I haven't even used the car to commute for ages because my last job was right next to a train station...

I know OcUK can be very militant against the invading car scene slang though, anti-lynch armour donned. :p

A daily driver is just simply a term for someone who spends all their money on their project car and has to drive a heap for the most part. That is pretty much me in a nutshell :P.

I probably should calm down when driving, but it does annoy me when I get overtaken by a van in a 30, who then proceeds to hold me up on the following bendy 60 stretch. It did make me laugh when he then got stuck behind another car and then a set of temporary lights, as I took the turning just behind him :p

and if you only have one car and you use it for commuting, its your commuter car, and therefore your daily car.

Sorry, but.. If you only have one car then it's just "your car" surely?

If you have a stripped out MX5 for track use and a lifted Suzuki Jimny for offroading and a whatever for going to work then you would want to differentiate, but the term "daily" still sounds ***** IMO. I guess I just have issue with all the cringey fluffy pet names that people use in this game :p

I’ve always taken the term daily to be an evolution of the term workhorse.

You have a horse that does the work all day and a horse or horses who have a life of leisure.

Surely that’s not too hard to accept? Same as something being a garage queen; so pampered that it’s probably washed more often than it’s driven.

You even see people blogging about mobile phones saying they are using a Galaxy S20 as a 'daily'. It's just a stupid term irrespective of its usage unless you're driving an Iveco :D

I think the real issue here is reading blogs about mobile phones! That’s even sadder than being a car geek :p

Do people really have phones for special occasions??

I appear to be the only person here still racking up the miles :( The only thing which has changed for me really in terms of the way in which i am working, is that my average speed has increased massively. Its sitting up at over 50mph over most fills, it never used to never get above about 30. In that sense (only), the situation is fantastic for people needing to do a lot of business mileage.

I wonder what the stats are at the moment with regard to traffic levels vs historic levels?
