Such a lovely looking car

Watch an old boomer in an X1 hit my E43. Luckily the car was well lubed with heavy rain and it mostly slid off :( such a nightmare on this tiny road.

MK4 Mondeo? My 2.0 tdci got 40mpg last tank, it's averaged 38mpg over the last year. Noticed some black soot out the exhaust when reversing the other day so maybe there's a little boost leak somewhere but not getting any errors or complaints from the car. Mine's done 156k.

managed 52.9mpg on a trip down south last week, not bad for a 2.0TDCi with 126,000 miles and not crawling along either @56mph :p

The dash light is DPF filter warning as the pipes broke at some point last year, I fixed them with new tubing & keep clearing it with app+OBD-II thing but so far its not regenerated enough to clear permanantly. Don't think much actually wrong given mpg doesn't seem to suffer but I did read it can cause extra pressure on the turbo if its partially blocked.

about normal mine has 148000 on the clock and flew through its test thursday on a run it returns 40 plus and when we last went to cornwall it was around 52/53 not bad fo a auto:)

noticed some black soot on my last mondeo tdci 2004 since then always drop a couple of bottles of injector cleaner in the tank when i service the family diesels now seems to stop the problems.

Degreased the engine bay on the Xedos 9, cleaned out the air filter, MAF sensor... poured a load of engine cleaner/cat cleaner in the fuel to get it running smoother and better.

Wow if you guys are giving @Kermit grief for having his wife take a photo on the motorway, you’re going to have a field day over this one. OmFg ChIlD kIlLeR!111

Drove to a group litter pick. Picked two bags of rubbish plus a few bits of lorry tyres and a couple of heavy things. Walked back to car. Put them in my car to meeting point.

it wasn’t forecast to rain this morning and got soaked!

Changed the hedgehog. The original one was long in the tooth.

^ Made a month before the car was!

Got hit from behind and drove off, thinking it was a pothole. Only noticed the damage when I got to work - the driver who hit me probably couldn’t believe his luck. Thankfully the crack seems to be in the paint and not the bumper itself, although still not ideal considering I was about to put it up for sale. Pretty sure the bumper must have been painted before for that to happen.

When I had my MK1 Octavia it would occasionally read 75mpg average for my commute from Brighton to London, and it was over 70 real mpg when I filled it up.

That was a 2003 with an engine from the mid 90's.
Seems to me cars aren't really getting more economical.

Still, im much happier getting 30mpg on a run in something fun. :D

Fitted a Bluetooth music streaming adapter to the PCM system on my car (silly optical links). Not sure why I didn’t do this years ago. So good to have tunes in the car and great sound quality!

Been getting a bit of uneven bounciness and the odd squeak from the back on my pickup last few days - had a look underneath and one of the rear shocks the o ring was sitting loosely at the bottom of the strut so I'm guessing one or probably both need replacing :s

Retrofitted the Ford Sync3 entertainment system to replace Sync2 which was standard fit until about 6 months after my car was built!

A huge improvement in terms of how modern the interface is and how much faster it feels, and most importantly, Android Auto and Carplay support! Very happy with it.
