What have you done to your car today?

I took my DS3 in for some TLC over the weekend. It should be about 208BHP, but I've noticed it wasn't feeling quite as spritely recently. The initial run on the rollers was showing about 194, so was a little bit down on power. Got it all sorted and given a tweak and it's now over 230! Really pleased with the results as it feels back to it's old self but also feels like it's not having to work as hard for the same punch.

Some light modding today. The GR86 has the same differential mounting setup as it's predecessor, and the same soft bushings, which can result in the differential rocking back/forwards quite substantially (see below video) when coming on/off throttle quickly, which makes for a rather 'rubber band' feeling throttle response.


I've just fitted some Whiteline differential bush inserts - they don't replace the bush entirely, they just fill the void in the OEM rubber bush. Fairly cheap, and quick/easy to install, and fully reversible, so I gave them a try.
Pleased with the results so far - not completely transformative, but tightens up the feel of the car, and makes throttle response feel better on hard pull aways or sharp manipulation of throttle in lower gears. And no noticeable increase in NVH that I can detect. Awesome :)
 
My parents came round to babysit so we could do some shopping. To make it easier getting out after they arrive I decided to turn the car round on the drive.

It cranked for longer than normal, started with a bit of a judder and threw up the EPC light on the dash. As I'm backing it up I though damn, that's running rich. Spin it around and by now the fuel smell is really strong. Jump out to find it pouring fuel out under the engine bay :rolleyes:

Luckily it is a company car so someone else's problem but we're meant to be going on holiday in it next week. Not brilliant timing for it's first mechanical issue.

So, it has a leak on the high pressure fuel rail. Not the first the AA guy had seen like it.

Now on its way to the main dealers with no ETA for a repair and no courtesy cars available, fantastic.
 
It made me laugh today when the electric car ahead of me waved goodbye as we pulled onto the dual carriageway, not realising that their car isn’t quite as fast as they thought, wasn’t pulling from a standstill where an electric car shines and had a TTRS behind. Once I realised what they were trying to do I pulled it back in within a second.
