I'm only 20 and haven't even had my license a year and I was only quoted £1500 for a 2 litre diesel BMW 1 series.

Full Comp + Business use and 20k a year.

Seemed awful fishy tbh.

how did you manage that? What no claims have you got? I've been looking at fiesta ST's (latest and previous gen) for in 18 months/2 years or so and am getting about £1300.

Just shopped around and used specialist insurers, spent my time pricing them off against each other etc, the same company went from £697 renewal to £590.
To give you an idea...
23, fully comp, had license 5yrs + 5yrs NCB, Sp30 (3 points from 2011), unlimited mileage, no named drivers and quite a few mods such as cams, exhaust, stripped interior, wheels, coilovers, and much more all declared.

Mine is also area, not garaged, not on drive (we have communal parking, that added £300 ffs) recovery and legal blah blah. Could have had basic for circa £800 but decided to make sure we were all covered (2 boys aged 7 & 8)
Next year I reckon it will be more like £600

Your headlights, is there something on the lenses? Look like they could use a sanding to clear them up :D

Nah, that's just the photo. Here's a closer one:

£590 seems about right at 23, I'm 25 and insure my 350z with (exhaust, filter) mods for ~£700, no accidents 6 years NCB, and my Smart for like £280, business and 20k a year. Both in a fairly central Birmingham postcode.

Washed both cars yesterday, and now they are very wet!

Got it back after having the water pump replaced at BMW under warranty. Also got the brake fluid changed at the same time as it was due in May.

Total cost inc the £100 warranty excess was £150..I'm happy with that. It's worth paying just to get back into a proper car from the Chevy Spark I've been driving the last couple of days!

Somewhere far.
Swapped my interior trim pieces. The original clubsport ones were looking terrible, seems the PO must have been wearing a ton of rings as the handles were all worn and were beyond feasible refurbishment. Replacements are hard to come by and they're priced at £150ish a side for the fronts alone.

Ended up going gloss black, on the plus side, they break up the monotony of having a grey interior. Quick pic as I was too busy swearing at clips and screws that didn't want to play ball :p

Swapped the run-flats for proper tyres which has made the ride much quieter and a lot less crashy. Unfortunately the tyre fitter noticed there was a bad dent on the inside lip of one of the alloys, so now I've got to try and find a replacement :(
