What have you learnt this week?

!

Just today I learnt how to simulate a sine wave source in Switcher Cad, as opposed to an octave sweep source. Good job too, otherwise my answer to this thread would have been the fecal matter belonging to Jack!

EDIT: Dunno what the "!" in the title bar is about, I think my hand hit the keyboard in that general area and I somehow added a title to my post...

1) That when taking photos of black people I need a backlight and/or hairlight, front lights just aren't enough

2) I've got a very busy week next week

3) I need to move out soon...

I have learnt that becoming single just before Xmas was the best thing to happen in a very long time. Smashed 3 pasties many a time since Xmas. One more soon to be..

Don't place capacitors back to front in a circuit. They blow up.

It's good advice! All the years I've been doing electronics it was only a few months ago I first blew up a capacitor, careless reversed polarity, stupid upside-down TL074 chip packages. Damn, it scared the **** out of me! :D

1. No matter how long I have spent looking through the Profanosaurus, someone will always come up to my desk, pick it up and find a funnier one than I have ever found - in this case a "jambush"

2. Never assume that working in a professional office environment guarantees a certain level of knowledge - was shocked to discover that 2 of my team of 4 didn't know that the way to determine if a year was a leap year was that it was divisible by 4 without remainder

3. Pouring 25% washer fluid and 75% water into my car's radiator was not a cause for alarm, or in fact any action at all

1. the guy at work i suspected was a bitter childish idiot... IS
